It has been a wonderful, terrific resource for me. I am so grateful to have discovered it . I read JWD daily to remind myself why I left and to reinforce my decision to stay out.

What kind of difference has JWD made in your life?
by JimmyPage ini feel fortunate that there is already a built-in online community i can go to where people can relate to having been a jw and where it's okay to express your true feelings about that.
i'm thinking it must have been much more difficult a decade ago.
so what kind of impact has this website had on your life?

I know exactly what you are going through. I too am a newbie to this(since June 2008). Read "Crisis of Conscience" by Raymond Franz. It was so helpful and enlightening. Also, I find these type of support websites to be a wonderful tool to move past the guilt process(JW-Support, JW-facts and JW-recovery). I find that if I continue to read them and remind myself what the WTBS is really about, I know I made the right choice by leaving the organization. I am still having some lingering doubts in the back of my head but my common sense and reasoning voice are overpowering them. This has felt like a death of a loved one to me but it is possible to get past it. Best wishes on your endeavor and hang in there, you really have taken the first step to freedom.

Thanks for the clarification. I did read the guidelines but that was some time ago (June). I don't have them memorized.

Volunteering at Assemblies.
by LouBelle income on i know many of you did.. i used to volunteer because 1. my mum forced me as a kid, then 2. i wisend up to the fact i'd miss quite a bit of the session if i volunteered.. many hours were spent cleaning stadiums, the loos (vomit), picking up litter.
in the days when they served meals at the assemblies we peeled potatoes, chopped onions, cooked, served the food / cooldrinks.
took the tickets.

I did. I always felt like it was a privelige to help out. Truthfully-I enjoy helping out with that kind of stuff. At my kids events, I always make it a point to volunteer to set up or clean up.

I was so upset physically for weeks when I found out the real truth. I cried, couldn't eat and was in shock. There was always a constant fear hanging over me that I should be doing more, studying more, etc, etc. That weight was completely lifted off my back once I discovered the real facts about the WTBS. Thanks so much to this website and others like it for helping me in my journey.

Once in a while I will call in sick and enjoy the day. I have good benefits at my job and we get 88 sick hours yearly. I wont' do it unless I know that I don't have a lot to do at work. Most of the time, I only take days off when they are planned.
