Hello... I was an agnostic when I initially left in 2008. I remained that way until last year when I went straight up Atheist! While i am respectful of others choice to believe in God and organized religion, I personally want nothing to do with it.

Just Bumped Into My JW Sister And Brother In Town
by pale.emperor inso im walking through town today on my lunchbreak and spot the unmistakable walk of my younger brother.
this is the one who left watchtower... well it turns out he's returned to the vomit after stupidly turning up to the 2017 convention and a few elders filling his head with seeing our dead dad in paradise and to "wait on jehovah".. a few meters behind him was my sister.
she spotted me first, then hurried up her step to my brother.

I am sorry that happened. It is horrible what this terrible cult can do to families.

Has Anyone Ever Just Gotten Mad and "Popped" an Elder?
by Cold Steel init has to have happened.
people get stressed out, an elder or overseer takes just two steps over the line and gets a fat lip for his trouble.. does that ever happen?
or maybe someone "counsels" a brother at the wrong time and tempers flare at the old kingdom hall?.

At my old congregation, a group of brothers played basketball weekly. During one of the games, one brother fouled another pretty hard and it ended up in a fist fight. The brother who threw the first punch was an elder and was demoted briefly. It was a big story in our area for a while.

Entertainment: What's everybody reading or into right now?
by schnell ini picked up bernard cornwell's the pagan lord at the library.
historical fiction set in england after the death of alfred the great.
i'm loving it, especially the between-the-lines wit and sense of timing in cornwell's writing, and the complete badassery of the protagonist.

Christmas is AWESOME!! I love it! The first time i celebrated it was back in 2008. I bought a small 3 foot tree(still have it) and had my boys help decorate it. We decided as a family that we wanted lasagna to be our annual Christmas dinner and it has been every year since. I don't really believe in the whole Jesus birthday thing but we enjoy it as a family and get to spend time together.
It's just a fun day for us to have plus you get presents!!
