the watchtower society has, for about seven decades, been attracting new volunteer workers for its field ministry with the promise of life forever on a paradise earth.

even the titles of its main study books since 1968 bear the promise: the truth that leads to eternal life, you can live forever in paradise on earth, and knowledge that leads to everlasting life.

how logical is this hope that leads people to entrust the watchtower with their time, energy and worldly possessions?

God will transport the excess residents of paradise to a new earthlike planet elsewhere in the universe.

Maybe by reading the Awake mag. we can become smart enough to build spaceships!

Witnesses LOVE Christmas Lights!

i don't know how publishers in your neck of the woods veiws christmas lights......but all the ones i've been around since being born into this religion........loves to see all the lights.

we even used to get a map in the paper that showed where those lived with huge decorations and go see them.

some entire blocks would get together and do all their yards and we witnesses would drive around to see it all.

That's correct two Jovie elders in suits stopped by my house last night at 5:00PM. I know both of them well and dislike both of them equally. What could have been going through their minds? Were they here to "help" me, could it be they noticed the Christmas lights? Imagine the glee in their eyes upon driving onto my property thinking "we've got him now" just look at the evidence all lit up around here. But alas a women they do not know ansewers the door "can I help you?" she says "is Hochimin home?" "he's busy" "he's busy? could you tell him Pedo and Nose Wagger ARE here?" "I'll tell him you WERE here" door closes and is bolted they leave.

I expect these sorry ass meddling f^$%s will be back here soon and I will not be nice if I feel the way I do now. I havent been to a Jovie meeting in five years and have no relatives in that sick organization. What could they hope to accomplish? Even after being part of the cult for 20 years I still can not answer that question. I think back on the direction from the WT and past rulers and would like to dig them up and kick their asses.

It Seems That My Children Are Not Trained

i just returned home from the kingdom hall.

i am an elder.. after the meeting all the elders were called to the back room.

i thought this was an impromptu elders' meeting.

It only gets worse from here. They will not stop, you are in the sights of the body of elders now, and they won't let up. With your family so young and the pressure so high I don't want to be a pessimist but the teen years are off the scale. I know how it works I've been there and on both sides of the issue as an elder. They tried to break up my family with pressure to conform to rules and that is why I am ashamed of ever being associated with the Witnesses. I have seen them succeed in destroying families by keeping them ignorant and under control. I could go on but I get aggravated when I recall these things.

i am almost always a very tolerant, easygoing person, but there is this one aspect of my personality that has caused us a certain amount of tension.

Ignorance has always been a problem to society and always will be. I’m ignorant of many things and a slap off the side of my head may get someone shot (kidding). Sometimes you just have to let dumb ass things go and enjoy that beautiful girlfriend of yours.

Jan 1st WT: Reaching out, Higher Education and Providing for one's needs

well, as a nice start to the new year, the jan 1st watchtower article, "how firm is your trust in god" blasts those who live comfortable lives, those who don't reach out, and those who pursue higher education.. definitely, they are taking a harsher stand, having completely painted themselves into a corner.. i highlighted the interesting comments.

i did not include all the text for each paragraph, just the main points.. .

1 a young man wanted to be more useful to the congregation.
