All that are out should be glad their out of the WT. As for believing any of that "weird stuff" about their past is certainly spurious at best.

what does it mean to have "freeness of speech" between elders on the elder body?
can they ask another elder on the body anything about his personal life and/or questions they would never dare to ask one of the rank and file?
can't find much about it in the publications.
Blondie;
No proof is needed, just gossip will do. Yes I'v experienced it all, if someone is out to get you it's very easy. Some bodies of elders can be extreme in their evil treatment of each other. As wild as it can get, I won't miss it.

being from the new england area, where this c.o.
liked to kick ass, a few of my elder friends wanted to know whether anyone has heard of whatever happened to a circuit overseer by the name of terry angelacos.
had a reputation of really trying to get elders removed and then he'd gloat about it at the congregation meetings.
Thank you
I heard he was no longer a C.O. , not that it matters any more but if i can help at least two more elders to get out by giving them any info. i'll gladly do it.

Freeness of speech is a power tool that is used against elders by the WT. They must "appear" exemplary to the r&f or they would not have freenes of speech to get up on the podium and spert out WT dogma. ex: elders kids are giving him trouble (probably acting normal)and he can not teach with out having everybody gossip about him.

my observation is that persons who 1) heal/adjust the most rapidly from their jw experience and 2) seem to have the most joy in life are those who read, read, read, in pursuit of what i call nourishment for the spirit.
i've really enjoy the pithy aphorisms you use here, which suggests you've distilled some wisdom from somewhere.
i'm going to ask your help in this thread.
First of course was CofC then ISCF by Ray Franz. Before I finished CofC I couldn't go back to any meetings. I'm so relieved now, of mental conflict that developed after every meeting life is just beginning to feel pleasant again.(wasn't always a drone)
I just finnished "The True Believer" by Eric Hoffer,It had some interesting applications to WT'dom, almost makes it seem as they know what their doing, as far as mind control tactics go.

Now he's back as an elder but started to read this site. Incidentally my elder friend is having his own crisis of conscience and realizes the hypocrisy of it all. Any help would be appreciated .

alan f. demonstrated the deceit of the watchtower organization over the issue of alternate civilian service for military service.
there is no question in my mind that the headquarters got numerous letters over this issue after the change was announced in the 1996 watchtower.
they comment on this in the august 15, 1998 watchtower:.
These two questions below can only be proven to the blind JW mind.
The WT is shifting the blame as usual. They will continue to do it as long as the zombies are there to follow.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
"What reason could anyone have to regret having followed his conscience in taking a firm stand for Jehovah?
7 Was it unrighteous on Jehovah’s part to allow him to suffer for rejecting what he now might do without consequences? "

How sad ;.(

i have been working on my letter to our local congregation to dis-associate myself.. since my wife is still very active in the non-truth and she also insist that i write this letter, i believe i will take her congregation address and telephone list and send my letter with all the facts about the wbts history of lies and send everyone in the congregation my letter via certified mail.
.
it would probally set me back a few hundred bucks but i think it would be well worth it, what do you think??
Hello Big Jim
I agree with LDH & Enlighted it's good to fade away and it is a personal decision. The only letter from my end would be from an attorney, and only if they went on the offensive first. When I was an elder I loved it when someone sent a da letter, boy did it save us a lot of wasted time and trouble. Make them wonder and think a little (if that's possible) let them waste their time and energy thinking about you. Ie: is the spirit hindered here in our congregation because of Big Jim?
So screw them they don't care about you , make it hard for them.

has anyone ever heard of or used the angle against the wt that a minor never actually made their own choice to join the cult?
( has not attended for 5 years since the age of 18) the reason i'm looking into it is i recently had a visit by a snake elder.
he came to my home at 7:10am as my friend (ha) to encourage me to return to the meetings.
That isn't so bad in of itself ,just very annoying, but as he was leaving he snuck in an investigatory question in regards to my adult child's dating habits, namely, not dating a fellow cult member. Immediately red flags went up, I wanted to kick his snake ass out of my house, I held back and told him I don't ask about it. I'm sure he was on a mole mission from the dink PO to get to me, however I'm prepared to release a lawyer to look into it.
Any thoughts or possible approaches would help. I guess the goal is to just leave us alone and not ever mention our names publicly.
