Has anyone got anything positive from the WT organisation?
by BloominMarvellous ineveryone seems to just hate the wt.. i am very upset with the way ive been treated but i dont hate them.. they have given me huge self confidence after helping me out of depression, although i have a fab counsellor, so they cant get all the credit.
they have made me independent as well, (i think my ex-study conductor regrets that!
) i suddenly have a mind of my own and am not afraid to use it.. i owe them quite a lot they have really helped me through some bad times but they have created some bad times for me too.

I am with Blondie. My pedoophile parents did give me things from time to time but it was truly not worth it.

Did You Ever "Grieve" God's Holy Spirit?
by minimus inanytime the congregation's numbers were down or there were numerous problems in the hall, the elders would question whether anyone might've grieved the holy spirit.
did you ever??
?.

We had a pedophile holding children in our hall and the PO told me dead faced that the Holy Spirit was not being Grieved because we were having new families move in and so we were actually growing. So it was OK for the pedo to hold children I guess because of the numbers going up. Well at least they never stopped the pedo form holding children. Oh right I forgot the pedo also said he did not really rape the child it was all a miscarriage of justus and well we all know child molesters are the most honest of people especially when they are talking to elders. I had another elder tell me that. How stupid am I. vs77

How ZEALOUS a JW were you?
by BonaFide inor maybe you are still a zealous jw.
i became a regular pioneer while i was still in high school.
i used to set my alarm for 5 am three times a week and walk a few blocks to do streetwork.

I was extremely zealous and I got nothing for it. I am somewhat offended by those on this thread that said you do it for the name and glory you get out of it. I did not do it for that reason, in fact I would auxiliary pioneer and not turn in my slip just put in the hours. I truly felt this was the true religion and that the system was going to end, that people were going to die.
I would get to upset and hurt by the other pioneers who just wanted to drive around aimlessly and count time. I was like we have got to talk to people to save their lives.
I was just so stupid. vs77

My experience with the Bethel Legal Dept. regarding a Ministerial Servant molesting a boy
by BonaFide inthe experience that follows contains some details that some might find graphic.
so be warned.. the body of elders received word that an unmarried ministerial servant, age 20, had been seen fondling a younger male bible student, age 14. the ministerial servant himself had been studying with the boy.
the ministerial servant was a quiet, timid brother.

Sending Out a Letter to My JW Daughter - Give Me Your Thoughts Please
by flipper insome of you probably read my jw daughter's letter to mrs. flipper and me a few weeks ago where she tried explaining to mrs. flipper why she doesn't have anything to do with me ( says i talk negative towards the organization ) .
in that letter though she showed some flashes of her authentic, kind personality and told us she loves us.
but much of the letter was proselytizing to us about how bad the system is and how jeovah will bring a paradise, etc.

I think cattails put it very nicely. It is easy to become bitter and that just hurts ourselves. I know I am fighting it. This has been a really hard time in my life. I really wish I could move on. I am trying to.

Besty said why don;t they have information on their homepage - that way everyone could go there for regular updates and would cut the number of calls down.
Good point. But than again that would be a loving thing to do. Like when my husband had a serious heart attack at the meeting and the elders let me drive him to the hospital. So when have they ever done a loving thing.
In the true religion would you not expect that they would keep their members informed. Like when Hinkly died in the Mormon Church that made world news. Is that not what you should expect in the true religion. Oh wait this is not the true religion is it! I forgot.

Thanks Barbara for everything and all the time you have taken to keep us up to speed. As far as the class action law suit I agree with Mary, but there are in some ways two different ways to look at this one the shunning part and then the child abuse part. I would love to see a law suit go through on either one of them. They both are just so horrible. More people need to stand up to the cruelty of what the WT has put us victims through. Thanks again so much. vs77

I am sorry it does hurt. This past week-end I was shunned by an older elder in my hall. I was at a coffee shop sitting outside and it was right after the meeting let out. He walks really slow because he is so old. Well I looked up and he saw me it was kind of like the deer in the head light look, he turned on a dime and shuffled off in the opposite direction. Yeah it hurt. All I have done is not go to the meetings for ten weeks. I am no DF'ed but you know how Love is the Identifying mark of the true religion. I am still a sheep I thought but then again I do not agree with pedophiles so there you go. That is why I stopped going to the meetings and well you know how the elders feel about child rapest. We never want to make a child rapest ever feel bad.
