My Wife is Home!!!!

she's home!.

the medical bed arrived yesterday at 10:15 am after i left the nursing facility and got it all set up.

it's a single bed with a regular mattress and a gel mattress on top of it.

YM- re the air matress bed - if you cannot get one of those, you can go on ebay and goto the med section - they sell air mattress overlays which could be used in the same way, also if she is using a wheelchair a lot, you can get a ROJO cushion - it is essentially a air seat that does not allow for skin breakdown - which she may need anyway after the operation..

I was unable to get a air matress overlay so I purchased dense foam about 2 inches thick and that seemed to work for the interim.

Skin integrity is of the utmost importance and it doesnt take long for bedsores to develop. Zinc ointment is a great healer for skin breakouts...

Just a few thoughts to help if I can

Many years ago it was mentioned that old Armstrong was affiliated with the WTBTS way back when - that is why the closeness of the beliefs seem to match-- but they did admit wrong, whereas WTBTS will not admit anything - their mags always seemed to parrot the WT - then there was a split with Garner Ted (son) and old Armstrong....

You are a man among men! usually it is difficult for a man to care for his sick wife and handle all the duties a household requires, not to mention all the doctors and medical appointments.. I speak from experience as I too took care of my ailing mate for 5 years - it brings a lot of satisfaction, knowing they are at home with you, you can converse, and enjoy each other in a myriad of ways... and somehow, it is not a chore but brings a great measure of satisfaction, knowing you are doing all you can to make them confortable ---but please dont let yourself get tired out.. you will need a break from time to time and it doesnt mean you dont love her any less, its just a break to help you revive yourself to be able to carry on without getting depressed yourself. I know there must be many support groups in your area so reach out if you need too or have some of the family set in for a few hours while you get a break.

You may want to purchase a baby monitor where you will hear your wife or her movements - I had one as well , I also had a small camera connected to our tv in the rec room where I could see the hospital bed at all times when I went on the aux channel - it worked well, also it had audio as well as video... that may save you running to check all the time

A few thoughts but mostly, my admiration for folks like you are very genuine

Elder giving special talk has lunch with us...shuts me down for asking about society money..lol?

we had a nice lunch with the elder giving the "special talk" but the conversation turned toward the cancelled bookstudy....well i went on to explain how knorr made too many meetings for brothers with families and how good it was to have a free night {even though i go to one meeting a week} then i said: "well, headquarters seems to have a very buisness smart brother working there with the publications now for donations due to tax and selling all those buildings in the heart of new york for millions and moving out....{elder interupts me] "yes, but, jehovah is the one who is buisness smart brother..." i thought wtf!

weird response, like was it too un-spiritual?

did jehoover really "tell" brothers to sell in new york?

Re the cancelled book study comment by 007-

Theory - cancel the one night per week - that leaves the way open for another congregation or two to meet at the hall, sell off the other one or two halls, money in the bank, esp in our country where all the halls are owned by the WTBT$ and renovations are going on everywhere, paid for by the dubs

Jah doesnt deal with monies, has no use for it- for the CO to even put Jah into the picture was sooo wrong-- and we all know why this sell off is being done in other countries, our time will come as the economy worsens and people lose their jobs and cant donate anymore

I cant subscribe to that mentality.. my hubby was a JW, I wasnt, we got married, I got baptized, he became an elder and I an elders wife..

My hubby was a funny guy, was very outgoing and personal, concerned about people-we both worked, I took care of paying bills, house

We had our arguments, we had our good times, a lot of them - he got what he wanted, I got what I wanted, we spoiled each other--all I had to do was suggest something and stop talking, he would come around and do whatever I wanted, so I could not complain..

He died and I thank God that I was as involved with doing everything I could while he was alive - I learned a lot and am able to survive, not like those who are a submissive lot and depend on their husbands to show them what to do as far as driving, paying bills, etc. It is a shock to many wives to have to take care of themselves when a death occurs - women should be knowledgeable, thats why they have a brain!

Eve was submissive to her husband only AFTER the sin - when God decreed she would be -- yet many religionists have taken this to indicate a woman be of lesser value in a man's eyes from that time on - I can only think of that Levite who allowed his wife to be raped and then cut her in twelve pieces.. maybe there was a moral to that story but I cant find it ...

i just read this coming in from a doctor in texas.

In Canada no deaths but a lot of cases... differentiating it from the normal flu with tests being done on all those sick.. it takes 24-48 hours for it to come on after contact and two days to get servere -they have set up a lot of clinics specifically for treating the flu- once diagnosed - stay at home and do not return to school, work, etc. for at least 7 days -- a lot are in quarantine that have been diagnosed with Swine flu..

the litter-ature over the years has teachings that imply jehovah's special people are all on the verge of having unplanned sex on a moment's notice, with anyone, at any time.. you must have a chaperone if you are to be alone with someone of the opposite sex, even briefly.. this applies to people of any ages.

Going back to WC remarks about Joseph.... the question that comes into mind for me anyway is:

--if Joseph was being harassed sexually for such a long time, why didnt he have an attendant or 3 always with him, after the first sexual approach by Potiphars wife?? He was in control of his masters house, he could have done it..yet he is set as an example of how loyal he was, wasnt neccessary if he would have protected himself,being sent to prison, but I guess he was set as an example for us so he was able to eventually take over rulership of the Egyptian nation... couldnt that have happened without the harassment??

a few years back, an elder who was a widower, proposed to a sister and travelled everywhere with her alone... what happened to the chaperone rule there - only for some ---- granted he was over 60 and she was about 10 years younger, but loves shines bright at any age,yet this was allowed to go on...so what does that teach impressionable ones..........kinda hypocritical, I would say

As Noah was in a closed ark - supposedly - with a "window" at the top - smell would be awful -- they remained in the ark close to a year - therefore, no bodies would be floating, no mass of bones would be evident when the waters subsided either as they would have been scattered all over the waters and settle wherever, anyhow.......

Well other than health issues popping up -- asthma, bronchitis, heart, lung cancer and on and on, its expensive

Here in Canada cigs are $11.00 per pkg --- not carton! Think of how many packs a day x 7days a week x 4 weeks per month x 12 months per year and see what you could buy with that - new video, audio, new clothes, man dont be silly

Dont give the cig companies your hard earned dollars

That is excellent information -- I printed off all the 8 pages

I knew how impt it was to keep our bodies akaline - lowly lemons are acid in taste but turn the body akaline, so have an unsweetened lemon drink once or twice a day - cleanses the liver too

Food grade Hydrogen Peroxide - mixed with water to dilute - is another way to get cancer killed

Also Activated Oxygen - you can buy in Health food stores
