So can I ask -- does this seem to be a push by the society to get true numbers of believers by followingup on those who have faded and not da'd themselves??

Were you Stalked or Chased After Once you Exited the JW's by Elders ?
by flipper ini tried to fade off the map by moving 30 miles initially in 2004 after i exited in late 2003 .
the first several years they didn't bother me.
i ran into a elder from my former congregation in late 2005 in an antique store - he tried telling me i was wrong for stopping attending meetings.

Jehovah's Witnesses---A Religion That Does Nothing For Anyone
by minimus inthe reality is: jehovah's witnesses benefit no one but themselves!.
they don't contribute to society.
they refuse to get involved in local interests because that would constitute violating their neutrality.. if sexual abuse allegations are made amongst their members, unless two witnesses can attest to the molestation, they refuse to get the "superior authorities" involved.. they claim to be doing their neighbors a "life saving" work but the reality is that they simply are pests to their "householders".. they are a tax free "religion" and they do not pay taxes.. they are judgmental people and regard the "world" as "worldly" and in the "power of the wicked one".. and if the individual members do not conform to the organization's dictates, they might very well be "shunned" and regarded as "dead".. why anyone would want to be a jehovah's witness is beyond me..

Minimus -- were you not an elder once?? You have been on the board for over 7 years and still no identifying marks on your member list
or are you still an elder?
There is a law of conscience and I and others use it
I did not feel bad when I donated my dozen or so large bags clean or dry cleaned clothing to the Diabetes society or they ship it to Africa to help the poor, I dont mind making baked goods or a meal for sick neighbours -- I know of those who have given money(lately one brother offerered over $10,000.00 to another bro who was undergoing treatments) others who have given monies without any promoise of repayment because of hard times ... if someone needs their house work done because they are too sick to do it, or are moving and need a house cleaned, a bunch of us get together and do it...
When bros and sisters are travelling to poorer countries, they load up with school materials, clothes, etc that a school can use... and I mean a regular school
Where do such caustic remarks come from on this board?
I do know that there have been adults who have complained and complained the elders never visit, but when they do and give biblical advice, no one wants to hear it, and then they continue on the same course for years, no real changes, jut complaints and live on the fringe of the JW's...
P Bear and W Power -- nice of you folks to kick in -- sometimes when I check the boards I like to see what is being said but this is an unfair one
The Bible tells us all not to let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.. so no one really does -- they just do it
Cheers
Hope no one is offended

My feeders are being swarmed by these spectacular birds...
by Gregor inevening grosbeaks.
sometimes erroneously called yellow finches.
beautiful.

There were a lot of grosbeak here but as the clear cutting took their feeding and nesting sites they seem to be heading to feeders for nutrition.
They are known here as a deep woods bird and are truly wonderful with a very pretty melody when wanting their food to be delivered...
Last year had two swooping barn swallows - deep, deep blue, almost black and so graceful wanting to build a nest in my mailbox so I had to tape off the opening and they went -- hope they come back this year -- havent been around for years...

Moshe:
I dont think u will find anything in th WT lit that tells you to do so OR not to do so -- my only understanding for this was that if it isnt supporting a religious org, then its a conscience matter -- I have seen the names of brothers and sisters listed in hospital ref materials who have donated to them, so this is not a made up scenario...
Recently had a re instated sister, who has a child -- she says everyone in the cong. is asking what she needs -- mostly has her apt complete now with electrical applicances, furniture and food....
Parents sign up as monitors for the school rooms, some of the kids are in plays and the parents help in that area.....
In the cong - there are bros who are constantly working for others to help out - those of little means who have car trouble, taking in food stuffs, giving furniture, etc. one bro has been driving folks to the hall since he was 16 and he is now 65 and never complains.... not to mention phone calls when sickness hits.. so whereever these horror stories are coming from, what did you do to make a difference? There are some elders who NEVER call on those who are having difficulties -- I know that side too - but each person will be judged individually
So as I peruse these hard and fast judgemental conversations, it makes me wonder, what did you and all those passing judgement do to make a difference?? Nothing is easy and yes there are many times I question, but as one says -it sucks the life out of you, well life just sucks anyway, just try to make a difference...

Don't buy anything at the meat market or yard sales or else you could turn out like me?
by dissed ini don't know how this happened and how they met, but a relative, a jw elder and my old po talked about us leaving the wts.
(he said this to my wife).
they reasoned, how could someone, who was a pioneer, bethelite, worked at the rbc, district and circuit level, taught at the pioneer school, helped dozens to baptism, suddenly and inexplicably, leave jehovah's organization?.

DISSED: Its unfortunate how being afraid of the truth as to why you left is blamed on demonism..
if thats the case - a heck of a lot of folks in my region would be affected as we have these second hand clothing stores - new and used - that everyone buys out of.... everyone in the congregations that is!! Approximately 15 in the area, so that argument does not hold water....and yard sales... every saturday and sunday ... just face the fact that they cant face the fact of understanding why you left.. there is an elder in our hall going thru the same thing and I just hope he does not decide to go thru with it as he is such a great guy
Just know that your faith in Jehovah and Jesus should not be affected ... if anything is true, and if you believe it still, its your faith and belief in Christs sacrifice that makes you what your are.... not any man
