Looks like another bunch of very long seasons for us. I really liked Bay as a player. You will get some consistency from him for another couple seasons. I hope that players that got traded to us are going to help.
...so manny will be manny for the dodgers who also have two other ex-sox players derek lowe and nomar.
it was a three way deal where the dodgers get manny and ship two young players to the pirates, the sox give up hanson and moss to the pirates and get jason bay.

the biggest game i missed was for a circuit assembly......in 1985 when miami played san francisco in super bowl xix.........my baptism was on 1-7-1989 so it was tough to miss the ca the next day so i missed cincy beating the bills and the 49ers beating the bears to qualify for super bowl xxiii.......do any of you remember when on the final week of the 1982 season i believe the networks did not have broadcasters for the games....missed those games to for the ca.....if you are a fan of another sport feel free to describe your sports experience!
Any Steeler game I could weasel myself into staying home for. The best was one year the playoff game leading up to the Super Bowl was on a circuit assembly day. You should have seen how many people were taking shifts in their cars outside to listen. The last assembly I went to back there, it was actually in the needs of the circuit part that assembly and meeting attendance took a nosedive on Steeler Sundays, dropped by something like 60 some percent, which is about the same amount of passes Big Ben dropped that season.
thank you, professor.. you are most kind.. sylvia.
Wow. I was just reading through the thread and was surprised. I had the opposite experience about race. I grew up in a city school up north where I was of a only a few white people. I saw a few instances of prejudice when I was out with my friends, but nothing even close to what I've seen here where I live in the south.
I love the lingo here though. The whole "Coke" means any soda you have available still makes me chuckle. I have learned never ever to say "pop". :-)

Awesome! Oh I'm gonna have with that one when I get home. Also, one of these days I'll figure out how to quote previous posters I'm answering.

I did not know there was a biblical Dothan. Guess I wasn't reading my NWT as close I was supposed to be. *chuckles*

I moved to the south from the north and haven't picked up the accent, yet. My boyfriend's family, however, is from Dothan. They have a thick accent (to my ears) and his great-grandmother calls me "that really nice Yankee girl". We are all "tragically Caucasian". :-D
prince is a dub, do you think he's making progress in the troof?
does he go out in the field and preach to others about this fine fauxtower babble and crap society?
if not, isn't he in the running to become dissed, or do the rules not apply because he is the purple one?
were you told that you werent "spiritually mature"?
you were "acting worldly"?
you need to "rethink your association"?.
Non-JW: (at the entrance doors to an IMAX theatre in a Science Center on the water): (person points to doors)"Is that where the submarine is?"
JW: Don't worry about still being single. Jehovah must have something better planned for you in the New World.
jws have certain must haves.
for example a jw needs his or her own "bookbag".
an elder needs an "elder case", something very big, because after all, he's an elder!
doing the "pioneer shuffle"...although I wish I could have convinced them it was the truffle shuffle...that would have made all that walking much more enjoyable...
i'm sure this has been discussed.
i was wondering what attracts a lurker/n00b to post for the first time.
i made my first post in someone else's thread eschewing the "hi, i'm new" thing.. for anyone, particularly the lurkers/noobies:.
To get comfortable on the board I post here and there. I lurk a lot more than I post. I haven't yet done the "hi, here's my story" thread yet, but the more I post, the more comfortable I will get to eventually share my story.
