Reclaiming my national identity
by Lady Lee ini love this country.
it is the home of my childhood and though there was a lot of pain there were the good times - going off to the park and looking for frogs and snakes, getting stuck in the mud, learning to swim in lake ontario, watching my 8 yr old brother jump off the 25 foot tower in the swimming pool below.
i was older but he had the spunk.

Few Jehovah's Witnesses bother to GRASP THEIR OWN THEOLOGY!!!
by Terry inkeep this one fact in mind about jehovah's witnesses.
they exist in three parts throughout their history.. 1. honest bible students attracted to the gimmicks of russell (charts, graphs, chronologies, pyramid inches, etc.
) expected the end of the world to come and they wanted to know more.. 2.contrarian hard heads under rutherford wanted to prove everybody was wrong about everything except themselves.

the cross thing is interesting. while it is certain true christians shouldnt worship a cross, is it nessecary to insist that jesus wasnt killed on one? I think this is a trap the witness theology has gotten into :( just because it is totally wrong to worship the cross, or use it in any form of worhship, doesnt mean you shouldnt believe he died on one. although it certainly is possible he didnt die on one. But that fact i think is really unknown to us.

Why ARE They Called 'Pioneers'?
by Rapunzel ini was reading another thread about the witnesses so-called "pioneer school," and there occured to me the question as to why these people are called pioneers.
i may be wrong on this [and may someone please correct me if this is indeed the case], but to my knowledge, the word pioneer does not appear in any manuscript of the bible.
in any case, because my curiosity was piqued, i looked up the etymology, the "true root" meaning of the word.

as a ms/pioneer knowing several witnesses, i would say your assumptions are mostly false. I would say its the opposite actually. And if it isnt, they will do the research (in non WTS pubs and elsewhere) to find the answer. Im wondering, do i come from a totally unique witness experience? I mean ive been all over the east coast, and other countries, has what i experienced been totally off?

The Convention Is OVER!
by B_Deserter inthankfully i was able to milk my cold this week enough to skip friday.
saturday i sat with friends of mine and was able to sufficiently tune out everything i heard.
there was one guy giving a talk that looked just like david koechner, one of my friends wrote a note to me that she could just picture him with a cowboy hat yelling "whammy!

it is old hat that you can tell the authorities about a crime even though it goes to criminal court. An old school elder from WAAAY back in the day showed me references of this. anyone have a copy of the new book i can get?

Ah...AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
by sinis inis all i can say to what my mother told me last night about the convention.
she saw some old buddies of mine (sure ain't my buddies when they never come by just because of differing beliefs...), and they asked how i was and she told them that i was an apostate, and that i had been brain washed!!!
ahahahahahahahahaha is all i could say when i called up (she answered, i called to talk to my old man) and she told me that.

that has nothing to do with it. It is because they are awaiting something even better than this. Its pretty clear in the Bible (if you believe in it - which im not sure about anymore) that there WILL be an end of some sort. Sure, maybe they have gotten their predictions wrong about WHEN, but there IS an end coming. And its going to be great. Thats what they believe, and thats fine. They dont live their lives for tomorrow only though, at least the ones i have known. Which, btw are alot, and spans 4 countries.

brown noseR? man, you really dont get it. I was a pioneer a long while and i never did it to "brown nose" -- thats ridiculous. I did it because it was fun, and because i FELT like i was doing the right thing, and relying on God. it was the best years of my life. hmm, sometimes i feel like the anti-propoganda is just as bad as the propoganda itself.... get balance, people, think like the jedi ;)

i think all the witnesses i know live their lives VERY fully. they arent just waiting around for some future thing to happen, they are happy, RIGHT now. I was certainly happy that way. I could haev lived my life like that just fine. Im sure my life would have been just fine. Even as a busy MS/pio
