there is only 1 way to become a jw, and accept all of the teachings.. you have to accept the govering body as god.
that means that they have all of the answers.
if you accept that then you will believe it all.. have you noticed that all jw's take everything as it is from god?.

Have you noticed that all JW's take everything as it is from god?
But when mistakes are made then they are quick to say that the govering body is only human.
You can only have it one way - either the govering body is God or they are human. If you believe that they are human then you can just skip it all and stay home!!

this was part of a letter i sent to some family and friends........ i have a few things i have really thought about that may need to happen for me to get my faith back.
the first would be for the be for the society or the governing body to actually share with me what they claimed in their first letter to me to have, this indirect evidence that the divine name appeared in the original writings of the christian greek scriptures.
if they do not even have that and will not provide it, then a serious apology is in order for me and all other witnesses, and an explanation for their blatent lie, and a revision of the new world translation is in order removing the name jehovah from the new testament.. as long as this does not happen, i will feel i have been defrauded.. i would also like someone to show me using only the bible how we can arrive at the date 1914 as the arrival of jesus christ, and the end of the gentile times.
The problem is that you are thinking!! You cant do that and be a JW.

give them the "mark 17" faith test!
mark 16:17-18.
"and these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.
That is not in the bible (because even the crazy people who follow it know that it is crazy.) That is the answer that you will hear from the Dubs.
JUST ONE MORE REASON THAT I DONT BELIEVE IN THE BIBLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!

i believe there are 500 or so official members of the watchtower bible & tract society.
these are the ones who attend the annual meeting of the watchtower society.
they appear to be like company shareholders.. who are these individuals and why are they apparently anonymous?
My grandparents were invited to go to the yearly meeting. They have lots of money and I know that they donate lots of it. does that help you qualify to go the the shareholders meeting?

5 you shall not bow down to them or worship them; for i the lord your god am a jealous god, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me!.
wtf !
so if your grandparents screw up god will punish future generations.
I have to admit that I agree with - number1Anarchy.
The bible is full of storys that dont make any sense to me. Killing children (A loving God would NEVER kill children !!!)
My favorite thing that dont make any sense is - THE PENIS. God makes a penis it is ok for awhile, then god tells abraham to trim it up a little, and to tell of the abrahams followers to trim it up. Then jesus comes around and says that we can go back to the normal penis. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Do you think that gods cares that much about a penis?

i am in good standing (of sorts) with the wts.
i have not gone out in service for 10 years - i have not been to a meeting in about 2 years - i skipped last years memorial.
my dad is a pioneer and elder.
You all bring up some very good points.
I agree that I am the parent and that I need to do what is best for my kids.
I also agree that I think that my dad is testing me to see if I am in or out. I think that if he know for sure that I am out, that he would rally the other elders to get to the bottom of it and I would be df'd.
The thing that makes me the most mad about JW's is the dfing. My brother is df'd and I see how it affects him and I dont want to be df'd. But on the other side, I feel like I should stand up and speak my feeling and if my family cant accept that then that is it I guess.
I also agree with the point that my dad is going to be talking about how my wife and I will be destroyed very soon - I agree that that is wrong to try to convince the kids that their parents are bad people.

The only problem is that I dont want to look like an apostate. I am also trying to get the point across that we dont have to be afraid of information, we can research anthing and sort out what make sense to us, to form our beliefs. I am trying to encourage him to research on the JW's, so he can see both sides of the story.

I am in good standing (of sorts) with the WTS. I have not gone out in service for 10 years - I have not been to a meeting in about 2 years - I skipped last years Memorial. My dad is a pioneer and elder. I hate almost everything with this cult. He has been hearing some of the stuff that I have said to other people, so he know my view of it. Now he asked me if he could study with my kids. I am not df'd. I have tried to keep my opinions to myself. How should I answer this?
I told him that I am not for or against it. I told him that in raising my kids that "I WILL NOT PREVENT THEM FROM ANY REASEARCH". Like JW's do!
I am not worried that my kids will fall for this cult. I have noticed that of about 100 people my age (31) that I grew up with only 2 or 3 are still involved (for real), a few more still hang around but are not really in.
I guess the question is should I tell him that I dont want him talking to my kids about this?
