i know i have been through all those stages, i denied it, then i got angry, definitely sad.
months and months of this, and i still am in for my family and friends.. but sometimes i just feel stupid.
why did i ignore basic common sense for so long?
So at least I don't feel THAT stupid, so many on here went through the same thing. One of the posters made a comment a few days ago that I really like. He said that not only are you raised in the JW way, you also see at the Kingdom Hall people dressed in suits, people you respect, and you think, "How could all of them be wrong?"

could you elaborate on who wrote certain books and brochures etc.?
i know you have written about articles you have contributed to, and also that coc lists the authors of some of the books, but do you remember at least some authors of some books / brochures / special articles?.
I knew a brother named Jim Spencer who was in Photography. He used to take out some of the Society's books and show us the photos, and tell us the backstories of how they took the photo. He told me that in the Creation book, the photo of the brother with the tie in the beginning of the book, the GB made him take SIX PHOTOS of the same brother until the tie looked right to them.
Seemed very spiritual to me then, not now of course.

i was in bethel several times off and on from 1989 to 2001. i was a missionary in between that time too, so i have some other names as well.
i still have friends at bethel that keep me posted on their lives, but even in bethel many bethelites don't know each other.. does anyone have any info about the following bethelites?
i will include what i have.. caretenuto, tony - walkill, 1989-1990. mederos, jose - walkill, patterson 1989-1999?.
The Ehrmantrout sister was kinda ummmm.....liked to talk to a couple of brothers as I remember. Dressed different than the regular Bethel sister too.

I think I might pose as an interested person that was present at one of his talks....He will think I want a study.....little by little ask him questions. You can tell by his way of talking he likes the limelight, so he will probably answer me.

I was raised in the truth, so I had no choice. But thinking back now, its weird that I forced myself to believe many things. It's like I WANTED it to be true.

But sometimes I just feel STUPID. Why did I ignore BASIC COMMON SENSE for so long? When I sit at the meetings and listen to people repeating what's in the paragraph, or when I am in a car group in service, and everyone says the same stuff about Armageddon coming, I mean I have to laugh at myself believing for so long.
I FEEL STUPID.

BF, yes it changed my life. So many posters have NO IDEA how much they helped me.
the recent threads by pistoff got me thinking that some youtube vids of the hard line positions being taught from the platform would be pretty cool.
if you're already going, why not get us some documentation .
of course it might already be up on http://www.jwproclaimers.org/ for all i know.. it's a shame you don't know what conventions the gb is going to show up at because it really would be good to get those guys on tape no matter what..
Yes, I will be there. I usually go in three languages, English, Spanish, and Sign Language. But this year I will tone it down a little, maybe two days of each.
Last year I was in a lot of mental stress, this year I think the talks might even be amusing.
Well worth my time, to keep my family and friends.
