Introduction Bio
by JakeM2012 inhi everyone, i would like to introduce myself and tell my story.
from the standpoint of being one of jehovahs witnesses, my whole family is deeply involved as i was the 5th generation of witness and any children that my brothers or sister have will be the sixth generation.
as some of my brothers and sisters are grandparents, i guess that makes their grandchildren a potential 7th generation.

WTBTS do no wrong in the eyes of believers?
by Momma-Tossed-Me inthe wtbts has enjoyed a well insulated capsule of people for a long time.
the amount of adherents that left was minimal because of the thick wall of fear.
they are riding on a sharp edge that with one great movement one way or the other could ruptre and cause great hemmoraghing.

The WTBTS has enjoyed a well insulated capsule of people for a long time. The amount of adherents that left was minimal because of the thick wall of fear. They are riding on a sharp edge that with one great movement one way or the other could ruptre and cause great hemmoraghing. They are well aware of this and between increased fear and organizational shifts the balancing act continues. Once this exodus begins there will be no stopping the slaves from leaving.

People leave the Org but don't drop the doctrine?
by Momma-Tossed-Me inthis deserved its own thread.
one thing i have observed being able to speak freely to individuals now about the wtbts is that even though they fade, they hold one to all or a portion of the doctrine.. if you examine the doctrine openly and fully you will see it has as many holes in it as the org does.
although it may appeal to you it doesn't make it sound scripturally.

Anxiety attacks and Door to Door Activity...what have you observed?
by Momma-Tossed-Me induring door to door activity in the distant past i have had the experience of witnessing actual anxiety attacks of jw's who could not handle that required preaching on that day and on more than one occasion.. this is what i have seen on multiple occassions.. extreme headaches, upset stomach to the point of vomiting, visible trembling before even approaching the door, arguments with spouses and children, signs of elevated blood pressure, light sensitiity, a total character change, and basicly a complete shut down to the point of limited communication.
yes we all have butterflies in the stomach associated with certain activities but what i am talking about here bodily affliction to the point of physically affecting the individual in some cases for the rest of the day.. these symptoms are obviously present for some newbie to this type of activity but i have observed this from people who have been exposed to this type of work for years.
i think the body just cannot handle the stress anymore, and the marination in the hormones associated with it.

I have observed these symptoms a lot in CO's wives.

My son was murdered today
by truman ini have been on this site daily, almost from its beginning, since i left the jws in 2001, but i have been more of a reader than a poster, as you can see from my post count.
i know few here know me, although i know many of you through reading your posts.
maybe it is not right to ask for support, when i generally stay quietly in the background of this forum, but i want only to speak a human misery of the deepest kind.

Truman, thinking of you. Tearing up everytime I come here. We come everyday, for we can only imagine what this must be like and it is probably not even close.
I would venture to say all on JWN are united in supporting you as can be seen, if there is anything we can do just let us know.

If you are on this board, free yourself fully from the influence of this organization. They have given you nothing that will either influence or strengthen your relationship with God, if you believe in him.
Find the true understanding of what salvation is so you can be happy.

MTM Experiences
by Momma-Tossed-Me inif witnesses could only feel the freedom to speak their minds, what would they say?.
well, being fully free from the org via my ex-communication really allows me to engage in conversations with members who allow me to do so.. what i have found interesting in every conversation is this common phrase, "you know (looking down their nose at me) the truth.
you know that the information is correct so imperfect organization or not this is jehovah's chosen organization.

If witnesses could only feel the freedom to speak their minds, what would they say?
Well, being fully free from the org via my ex-communication really allows me to engage in conversations with members who allow me to do so.
What I have found interesting in every conversation is this common phrase, "You know (looking down their nose at me) the truth. You know that the information is correct so imperfect organization or not this is Jehovah's chosen organization. You know that having anything to do with the world affects your relationship with Jehovah."
Now, I realize that this is standard fodder and regurgitation. But the phrase, "You know..." is very troubling to me for their sake. They knew me when I agreed with them through uniformity. That is not what, or who I am, or know now.
Guilt is the way they try to re-convert. That is not found anywhere in the Bible. The facts are what should prevail in any conversation that is held between an ex and a JW.
So I have found another person in my area that is totally out and educated about the WTBTS. By having someone else to talk in your area really helps.
Last night I was at a local restaurant and saw a married couple who don't go to any meetings except the Memorial of the Watchtower's Existence.
We exchanged pleasantries and I actually sat down with them. Then I informed them that I was running for political office and they acknowledged that fact. They wanted to know why and said they were suprised to see it.
I told them I began my fade some years ago and was truly happy with my decision since I was now righting a wrong course that had countributed to a relationship with an organization rather than a relationship with God.
The husband was really trying to get me to see "the light" and the wife was agreeing with me, which I thought was interesting. But they were visibly uncomfortable talking about these things.
I spoke on the subject of self policing members, worshipping in fear, the DF'ing policy, etc. I also spoke about the judgement about ones salvation being determined by ones works.
I also said by putting my name out there it showed that ones could be truly happy outside of the religion, for the husband was under the impression that many have left and are unhappy which is more Org fodder.
One thing I can say is when approaching people impromptu just speak about the benefits of leaving the Org. Doctrinal matters will get you no where, just avoid them. Speaking about the positive effects in your life by exiting will appeal to them since they are so unhappy and mentally diseased spiritually.
One more thing I have observed and that is when people do leave, MOST hold onto the doctrine which is interesting don't you think?
Hope you enjoyed! Have a great day!

Truman, I have commented previously but wanted to check in today and let you know, as have many others, that you were in my thoughts throughout the day yesterday and today. Please hang in there, type us a novel on here if that is what your need. Although many of us have never experienced this we are all going through the day with our flags at half mast, very much affected by your loss.
Positive thoughts all the way from Florida headed your way right now.

Add to this any other stress from family, home, or work and the fuse to a psychiatric disorder could be lit.
What are your observations?
