  What is YOUR bible of choice?

  although i'm pretty much an atheist, i still like reading the bible.

  it's an amazing literary masterwork to say the least.. my question is, after discovering that the new world translation of the wts was poorly translated and altered in ways designed to support their various peculiar doctrines (see john 1:1, etc.

  ), what bible translation are you all the most fond of?.

  I found a way to put the NWT in e-sword, it really shows how bad it is when you compare verse by verse.

  How? I didn't see it available in the list of downloads?

  my english neighbor (arrived here from essex, is there really such a place?

  ) always makes those comments about our kids, our car, and so on even made fun out of me when i told him we used to be witnesses.

  Just remember, he is from Essex which is the territorial equivalent of a mispelled tattoo.

  I've just asked my British friend what Essex is like.

  Her reply was, "OH GAWD! I've never been there and I don't wanna go! That's where Sharon and Tracy are from, and they're all uneducated and stupid!"

  i have a few which still either anger me, make me sad or just make me grateful that i am no longer one of them.

  1 - "well, everyone is going to die anyway, so if it at armageddon then ce la vie" 2 - "the disater today at the world trade centre is sad, but exciting" 3 - (an elder) "when armageddon happens, i want to be at a window, watching it all".

  I was googling for some information on JW's, because of really strange feelings that surfaced after my mother's funeral, when I found this site. I signed up because I couldn't read the posts without signing up. Then, I was like holy sh*t!!! These are some crazy fools! In a good way.

  Generally I use the New World Translation, simply because it's built into the WT library and thus easily accessible."

  I do both of these; the NWT does attach readily to some other reference books and this can be useful :)

  Exactly what reference books (other than those published by the Watchtower Society) attach to the NWT?

  Thank you all for recommending e-sword. I just downloaded it (and about 30! bibles). That will give me something to chew on for a while (like the rest of my life) lol.
