fyi---had a part about the relief ministry to show what "jehovah" is accomplishing through his organization to help the brothers and sisters abroad to the praise of "jehovah's" name.

even the governing body representation is there for spiritual support.. after this encouraging part, the elders put to the congregation a resolution to send a one time $10,000 to the branch for relief work.

FYI---had a part about the Relief Ministry to show what "Jehovah" is accomplishing through his organization to help the brothers and sisters abroad to the praise of "Jehovah's" name. Even the Governing Body representation is there for spiritual support.

After this encouraging part, the elders put to the congregation a resolution to send a one time $10,000 to the Branch for relief work. (A few months ago there was $11,000 or so in the bank.)

Another resolution to ante-up the regular monthly (tithe) from $700 to $900.

This we were told is our way of showing our appreciation for what "Jehovah" is doing to take care of his people!

Cannot imagine how much money is pouring into WT monthly. Don't forget to watch the video to see how much money WT needs to help with the Relief Ministry.

FYI-

This past week or so Circuit Assembly in Cleveland area, the CO scolded the audience for not sitting down once the music start playing. Before his part, he asked the audience for "program silence" ! Everyone was quiet or half a minute- he then said - this is what the Governing Body wants - us to be in our seats with program silence when the music plays- since the opening music is part of the program.

I'm sure with this upcoming Regional Conventions more of this "slapping of the wrist" by the Governing Body will take place to get the "friends" in their seats for the music accompaniment of evangelical music.

No mention of Jesus as head, I guess he is to busy to be involved in the publications. Amazing how WT puts the Creator of the Universe on the level of humans.

satan controls 99.9 % of the world except for one little obscure religious group that no one pays any attention to.

Satan only wants JW because we are told that. Making JW believe that they are the only ones put under trial by Satan.

I (PIMO) asked my wife (pioneer) one day, if we are the only ones "in the world" being persecuted by Satan, what explains this, who are these non-JW's people being persecuted by https://www.persecution.com/about/?? Talking about "deer-n-the-head-lights" look kodiak moment! She simply walked away saying you are always negative.

If you are the spokesman for the Creator of the universe and all that entails, and represents the head of the Christian Congregation Jesus, since their intelligence is higher than ours - that you would get the Creators name right despite "worldly" information!

Would think the Creator would reveal his true name pronunciation to those speaking for him- he did that for Moses.

Would think the head of the Congregation Jesus would clear that up when he choose them in 1919, "by the way my dads name is pronounced......"

in today's wt study, 9th sept 2018, para 14. we learnt that jesus mother, mary, is one of the 144.000 anointed at penticost.

just another classic, we know more than what is contained in scripture..

I guess Mary is enjoying her blessings as outlined in the paragraph now!

Notice how the picture of 144,000 all looks like men!

Oh wait, does watchtower teach there is neither male nor female with angels, even though every picture of angel is male-looking!!

So if Mary is given a spiritual body in the appearance of a male as a member of the 144,000, then does she have her female thoughts???

KH Hall doors to remain locked during meetings?

my mother in law told us this morning that they read a letter in her cong last night.

from now on kh doors will be locked after 15 min of meeting start.

only the fire exit (one way door) will remain unlocked.

in my congregation they lock the doors and the gate of the main parking lot entry. The second entry (no gate) is blocked by a brother sitting in his car during the meeting. The two attendance rotate during the meeting one inside the other outside. I told the COBE that it is too dangerous (being inner city) to have one brother in the parking lot during mid week meetings (we had a lot of car vandalism over the last few years) he said we need to trust in Jehovah. So I asked to be removed from the attendance list, he said ok.Since I'm no longer attendant, I have no knowledge of any incident since then because we never reported to the congregation to keep the friends aware of whats going on.

I guess I need to step up my game in reliance on Jehovah- huh?

Facial Hair

since i have been out for seventeen years what is the currant society policy concerning beards and mustaches.. in the sixties and seventies facial hair was forbidden at bethel if you white.

if you were black you could have mustache but no beards.

so obviously you could not be elder or pioneer if you had a beard.. any updates?

The latest information that I remember is from the Sept 2016 Study article "Does your Style of Dress Glorify God?"

17 What about the propriety of brothers wearing a beard? The Mosaic Law required men to wear a beard. However, Christians are not under the Mosaic Law, nor are they obliged to observe it. (Lev. 19:27; 21:5; Gal. 3:24, 25) In some cultures, a neatly trimmed beard may be acceptable and respectable, and it may not detract at all from the Kingdom message. In fact, some appointed brothers have beards. Even so, some brothers might decide not to wear a beard. (1 Cor. 8:9, 13; 10:32) In other cultures or localities, beards are not the custom and are not considered acceptable for Christian ministers. In fact, having one may hinder a brother from bringing glory to God by his dress and grooming and his being irreprehensible.—Rom. 15:1-3; 1 Tim. 3:2, 7.
