  Is age just a number? 30 year difference between partners....

  a collegue of mine, a mother of 19 year old twins is distressed.

  her one son has been going out with an older women (this came to light when the other twin was sick and tired of all the lying going on) the truth is that the older women turns out to be her very good friend, who is now 49 years old.

  let's call her madam x.. madam x is a very '"sweet"" woman - i know her, as i used to work with her.

  As soon as my dad got rid of me and my mother he started dating a girl that's two years older than me. He's 45 years old, she's 20. Yeah that's normal.

  no, she hasn't ever watched the show but she was told by another dub of a segment that took place on one show.

  My Son's Shunning begins......So Sad

  in an earlier thread i spoke of my younger son going to move in with his girlfriend, non jw.

  he's 30, baptised, divorced hasn't been to meetings in three years and in good standing.

  so, yesterday i had the opportunity to help him move.

  He is one to loves to bash the war and I do tend to agree about that to a certain extent as we're spending a lot of money on the war. But we are sending FOUR times as much money every day over seas to foreign oil companies. It's the biggest exchange of wealth ever and guess what, no one is complaining about it nor doing anything about it. Instead it's much more popular to just whine about the "war" machine.

  i've been thinking about what its like to be born and raised as a jw and the mistakes that parents make as an almost direct result of this cult.

  for one thing, the children are not allowed to think freely, and if they say or do one little thing their parents disapprove of, they are chastised and basically bullied into abandoning that thought or action.

  another thing is that no matter what you do, and no matter how good your reputation is among friends, teachers, administrators, etc if you don't want to go to meetings, and don't believe in this faith, they do what they can to make you feel lower then dirt for this and will often resort to verbal abuse, and sometimes violence to force you to believe in them and conform.

  They can do damage but it's up to you to undo it. I had everything I ever knew taken away but it didn't take long before I realized that as soon as they "cut me loose" my life improved. It didn't take long to make a lot of new friends and to get involved in good healthy activities. So I won't see my so called friends in the truth ever again. One set of grandparents has told me they'll never speak to me again and my father has "moved on" so he can gain privileges at the hall. So I guess I can sit around feeling sad and bummed out but instead I'm excited about what the rest of today offers. It's going to be a great day and I can only imagine how great tomorrow is going to be. Yesterday? Who cares, it's gone.

  I haven't got plans to dive the Bibb yet, is that a good dive? I am nitrox certified but some of these wrecks are at the edge of how deep you can go on nitrox unless they make a weaker mix. On the other hand most of the dives in the keys are so shallow that diving nitrox is kind of a waste of money. They charge so much more for it here compared to out west.

  JK666 I live near Key West but I got up to Looe Key all the time and I also dive out of Marathon. Everyone here says the diving near Key West has gotten bad over the past few years and maybe they're right, the vis isn't very good and the coral is mostly dead. But it looks much healthier near Marathon. I get to dive the wrecks around here and so far my favorite is the Thunderbolt. But next week I'm going to Key Largo to dive the Duane. Oh and I got certified out west through SSI. I think agencies don't make much of a difference, it's more about the instructor you have. Mine is an older guy and very patient. He not only got me through the course he made me really comfortable. So much so that I'd like to be an instructor myself one day. Just as a part time job.

  Old thread but I did a search, so, sue me :) I'm a diver and I got certified in the north west but since then I've moved to the Florida Keys and I go diving every week. I just love it. As my old instructor said (he was old) it's the most fun you can have wearing rubber :)
