"Appropriately, there was also a full moon on Thursday, March 27, 1975."
Isn't it great that they deem the moon to be behaving appropriately...

The Society debunked the rumored new light on the F&DS in 1973
by Leolaia inthis is the summary of the rumored new light from the 2012 annual meeting, as posted by cedars.. the faithful and discreet slave was not appointed at pentecost 33ce, meaning that there has not been a continuous line of members of the slave class on the earth down through the ages.
the slave class was only appointed for the first time by christ in 1919.the faithful and discreet slave is a small group of anointed brothers during jesus presence serving at watchtower headquarters who are directly involved in the preparing and dispensing of spiritual food.
the individual members of the governing body are not the faithful and discreet slave.

Two thoughts:
1. The first person I remember that Jesus told to do a "feeding" work was Peter. Feed my sheep. That should give some indication of when all this "food at the proper time" started being dispensed. That fact notwithstanding...
2. ...in order to make this alleged new light even begin to work, the second highlighted paragraph in the opening post will now need to start with "Yes!" The master's going away will now have to be interpreted as the period between 1919 and whenever it is he returns.
How they'll explain their possession of the title that the Master only gives after his arrival will be entertaining to read.

Intro/fellow abuse survivor
by jwabusesurvivor inim new to the site, as my username implies i am an abuse survivor, it was more then sexual, it was a very horrific type of abuse and no surprise the jw's that were involved were and still are being protected.
i have found posts here to be encouraging and glad to see i am not alone in my struggle and my fight.. i have a constant struggle/battle with emotional and mental health issues from the many many years of abuse but i am a fighter and try to keep on going, but am so glad to have found this site, it seems to be a source of encouragement :).

Hello! Glad you've found this great group of people! Abuse that happens within a religious context has an extra layer of damage that goes with it. Although we are no substitute for skilled professional counseling, many of us here are expert when it comes to dealing with the after-effects of being Witnesses. I hope you'll find that any sense of isolation you may feel is eased through the many supportive voices you'll encounter here. Welcome!

Stacy, thank you for that candid look at Oompa. I have a very dear friend also that is mentally ill, and I KNOW the time and love and patience it takes to have such a friendship. I'm sure you gave him everything in your power to give and it's comforting to me to know that he did indeed have friends in the flesh who cared so much about him. I'm so sorry for your loss.
