  Dear Oompa and All, thanks for your congrats, love and helpful advice. I like the idea of sending a christmas card to the PO.

  My parents have been in-active for 10yrs (still in to be able to see their daughters-now only one to go), they are very happy for me and the best support. I know I'm fortunate. My brother, the most clever in the family, never joined. My sister is workin at Bethel with husband and said good bye to me y-day??? She won't write, talk to or see me from now on.She's disappointed of course and very sad too. God, that hurts. I don't think I'll ever get over it. Any ideas?

  I grieve I was once of the same mind and I'm so sorry for you who's lost your children etc. I've been crying all night. I can only hope this will start her thinking but I'm afraid it'll only make her stronger.

  You know your marriage is over when...

  you call an ambulance because you cannot breathe and your wife lets you pack your own case as you are rushed to accident and emergency.. .

  any other clues?.

  1. your husband isolates you from friends and family - not even your parents can come and visit and stay over
  2. don't let you use the car (not even in service or to meetings)- which you are, btw, paying for...
  3. doesn't allow you to listen to the music you like at home and not watch TV as you want
  4. doesn't allow you to eat in the living room in front of TV
  5. i.e doesn't allow you to be yourself
  6. doesn't work (isn't that in itself a scriptual reason for divorce?)
  7. sleeps all day and watches movies and play TV-games all night
  8. treats you like a child-tells you to wash your hands EVERY time you comes home (he suffers from bacteria fobia among other things)
  9. never thinks you are enough or does enough
  10. takes you for granted
  11. says he never should have married you in the first place
  12. no sex life
  13. don't treat you with respect in front of others
  14. makes you feel stupid and in-attractive
  15. in-active as JW for many many years - the ironi of it is that since I left him he's never been so active, which of course is understandable since he'd only had me (another scriptual reason for divorce?)
  16. etc etc, the list can go on and on........

  Not everything was bad all the time. He was definately the man of my dreams at one point. That's what makes it so sad. At least I didn't give up in the first place. I endured for 12yrs!! I was a very good and loyal christian wife as you can understand:-) If I'm not going to heaven????

  Anyone who has a good idea what to do with your wedding pics? I think I'll keep them in a box somewhere as a good memory after all.

  I've escaped "prison" healthy and now I'm free and it's his loss.

  Dear mtsgrad, I'm so sorry to hear what happened to you. You deserve much better. Never settle for less. I won't!

  The most stupid thing a sister said to me

  one of my "so called" closest sister friend in the congregation, said to me when we once had lunch that "if i was a man, i would want to have an affair with you"!!!

  i just went numb...what a crazy thing to say.

  i think she revealed her sick deep thoughts.

  Thanks for your thoughtful comments and you are right, even though I think it felt a bit creepy, I should take it as a compliment and maybe she did regret saying it. No harm done...maybe I still have a bit of that judgemental spirit in me...hm

  Thank ya'll....

  I made the big sin of falling in love with another man after many many years of un-happy marriage (long story), while still married but I'd already moved out and left him and the WT org.

  But now they will never know exactly what I've done, he he, coz I refused to meet with them.

  I hope it's nagging them...

  Give me a reason not to have an affair/one night stand

  i am extremely close to having an affair.

  let me give you some details.. been married for 8 years.

  not had any relations for 7. faded 3 years ago.. in middle of getting divorced.

  Life is too short just to sit and watch it go by

  So true. That's how I felt. We all deserve happiness!!

  Growing up as a JW I'd surpressed my feelings, for all kind of things, for so long. I believe that to deny your wishes for too long will make you very un-happy. Of course you don't want to hurt anyone in the process but as I understand your marriage is basically over anyway.

  I've just gone through exactly the same thing this year. Had been married 12yrs. I followed my heart and had the affair. I was very much in love and couldn't stop it. Personally, I've never regretted it one sec. It was an amazing experience for me after being so miserable for many years. Of course, I'd never done it if I was still happy in marriage and under WTs strong influence but luckily I'm out now and free and happy!

  I say, go for it! Follow your feelings and what feels right for you.

  Do you believe in life after death?

  i'm not scared of death but as for most people i find it hard to accept it's just over when we die...but no-one can ever know... and i'm working on coming to terms with that.

  maybe it's harder for us who's been sure of living forever in paradise?.
