  in george orwell's novel 'nineteen eighty-four' the capitulation of the principal protagonist is portrayed in his willingness to assent to the proposition that two and two make five.

  once he had denied objective reality, his mental conquest was complete and he was no longer truly the master of his own mind.

  nineteen eighty-four is in many ways, a very depressing read.. a charge commonly leveled at jehovah's witnesses is that the type of mind control envisioned by orwell has been and continues to be used on them.

  What do you mean? You do not have to sit, listen, swallow or accept any of it. You do know that no one is forcing you to sit, listen, swallow or accept anything, right?

  Well, you've accepted it haven't you?? I think you know what I mean or you are in self denial like everyone else. Most JW's will accept anything that is said from the platform!

  I appreciate that you're trying to explain this to us...but nothing is really new to us...remember we've all been there...I don't want to question your intelligence but somewhere you just have to see how ridiculous it all sound and is???!! I don't even know where to begin and I'm afraid it would anyway only be waste of time...but I have to ask you this:

  but it'll come when the good news will have been [satisfactorily] preached in all the earth

  who put the word satisfactorily there and why??? no man knows "that day or the hour", why would jesus lie abt this?

  so why do you continuing trying to find out the hour then????? Are you aware of how many years have been set to be the end before 1975? Most JW aren't. I wasn't.

  Also I wonder why you're at all posting here...you could be in deep trouble for being on here conversating with apostates???!!! And if you truly believe you have the truth you wouldn't have any need to be here in the first place.

  I would strongly recommend you to read Ray Franz book "Crisis of Concsience" which will shed some real "New Light" on things for you!!!

  Thanks cofty, I realise I'm fortunate to feel like this and I have since the first day I left.

  Sometimes I'm talking to ex-jw who left years and years ago but are still tortured by bad consience, low self confidence etc.

  I feel so sorry for them. I hope they will be completely free someday also.

  I'm not even sure anymore that there is a god or if the bible is just a story book....the best thing is that I don't feel I have to know or believe in anything rather than in myself.

  My sucky situation

  hi guys,.

  sadly some of them had been in bethel for 5 - 10 years and were still cleaning toilets.. after about 2 years of it i couldn't do it anymore.

  i always knew something wasn't quite right with this organization.

  Thanks for opening your heart to us and welcome. It's really a tough situation you're in and I'm sad this is happening to you. However, I'm sure that it will work out for you in the end. Just be patient and please don't let anything or anyone make you go back to the org and don't take any crap from the "elders".

  I hope that your wife someday will come to realise the truth abt the "truth" also. Nothing is impossible

  We're here for you. Just write whenever you want and have to.

  on fb yesterday, an old friend of mine 'friended' me....and once again, i was hesitant to actually accept because i didn't know how she would feel about me being df'd.

  but i accepted, and she sent me a msg.

  well we ended up talking back and forth for awhile, and found out that she lives right around the corner from me!!!!!!!!!!
