Begging for money at Bethel

the thread about the circuit assembly accounts and where the money goes reminded me of one time when we were at bethel.. we were at bethel between 1991 to 1994, there had been some problem in another country and at morning worship they asked all of us bethelites to put in at least one dollar a person to send to the brothers in this problem country.. at the time my husband and i just did not have it.

we only got $90 a person so $180 a couple.

ok i know we had a free place to live but we still had to pay for car gas to the hall our car insurance, air conditioning, shampoo, clothes, etc.

i often wish there were more smileys and symbols to chose from!

isn't there anyway to add more?.

for instance, now it would have been great with a christmas tree but i guess a palm tree will have to do.

nothing profound in this thread.. just a simple "merry christmas" to those here who no longer consider it as something evil to be avoided.. the message goes out especially to those on the board:.

-- who never were allowed to celebrate christmas growing up.

-- who weren't allowed to say "merry christmas" back to "worldlies" who said it to them.

Could you ever go back?

not that i'm thinking about it, even for a brief nano-second, but something i have thought about is this, is there any way you could go back and not have people look at you with the stink eye?

after admitting your true feelings, how in the world could people ever look at you the same?

if you were in the situation of welcoming someone back, would you be able to look past the errors?
