  What Do You Do All Day?

  what do you do all day?.

  a man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard.. the door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog.

  proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess.

  What do they get out of it?

  a couple of weeks ago, i was at an event where there were a lot of bunnies running around; playboy bunnies that is (work related).

  cute girls i guess, but they all have the same boob jobs, same nose jobs, same tans, and no uniqueness among them (ok...maybe one or two of them really stood out).

  most of them literally are reduced, or reduce themselves to t&a.

  noontide you're missing the most obvious answer. They get power out of it.

  Think of what just recently happened with Tiger Woods. All those girls coming forward to say they had sex with him.

  Most of the women/girls I grew up with would have never even given it a thought about going public with it even if

  they woulda been wooed by him, just out of either embarassment or not wanting to bring shame onto their family

  name. But it's a new day and age we live in now.

  These women with Tiger came out in almost unison. Not wanting to be outdone by the other, each was wanting to have

  bragging rights about them being with Tiger.

  It was like how some talk about guys putting another notch in their belt when they "score" with another woman.

  Even if they knew the odds of Tiger leaving his wife for them was virtually non-existent or even zero, that one or more

  days they spent with him allowed them to be pampered with gifts,fine wines and a few evidently got to even go into

  his own home while wife was away. For just a little while they called the shots to a "big time celebrity".

  He gave them power. It was more intoxicating to them than any drink could be, no matter how fleeting that power

  may have been.

  Same situation with what you described earlier. Late teens to early twenty year olds being with some big time

  executives,celebrities maybe or just hanging with what they feel is the "in crowd". It can be quite enticing to them.

  Not all females are this way (thank god or whoever) but I come from a very large family and extended family with lots

  of females and I've seen certain ones exhibit this same mentality/attitude.

  Ever hear that saying that the guy is the head of the family, but the woman is the neck that turns that head?

  Some girls just find this out a lot earlier than others.

  I'll never fall for the fear routine again. Whether it be from man or otherwise.

  Love would be what draws me to God.

  Not fear that he can beat my ass like a bad step-father. Or destroy me or burn me or _______(insert your worst torture)

  You earn respect. You never demand it.

  A good king will earn the respect of his subjects without ever having to resort to violence or intimidation.

  What drew people to Jesus was the love he showed. Not him throwing around his powers and saying follow me or else

  you're toast.

  I can show you a scripture where it say God is Love.

  Can you show me one that says God is fear?

  What are you like a pre-teen troll. surely you can do better than that.

  But to be honest I could care less what motivates you.

  When someone types LOLOL over and over in their response it usually signals to me that they are at a loss for words

  and can't come up with anything better.

  As of right now all you seem like is a dumbass to me.

  But hopefully you will prove me wrong on that.

  As was already stated, Hell No!

  serenitynow! said something that deserves restating:

  "How can you not see that Armageddon is to JWs as hellfire is to other religions?

  JWs fear armageddon like church folks fear hell."

  They are two cogs on the same machine. The fear machine to keep the masses slaving away.

  One type uses hellfire and the other type uses Armageddon to accomplish the same goal.

  In the end I guess it doesn't matter to the organized religions as long as it keeps the flock in fear and servitude

  and always ready to be fleeced again. heh

  And on a similar note I've had the opportunity of talking with some "brothers" from the surrounding halls close by me

  and can tell by their tone and speech that they are just there going through the motions for the sake of family and friends.

  I could just sense the boredom and monotony. There was no excitement in their voices or big smiles on their faces.

  Makes me think the majority at the hall are there for appearances sake alone and not for the religious implications.

  I see this as right the opposite. They would rather be here and talk and discuss things than be in church,kingdom hall,

  temple, etc.

  I know this doesn't apply to all because some here are very adamant about their religious views since leaving the WT.

  But have you read most of the threads lately? They tend to deal with sports,politics,dating,eating,socializing,movies,

  best places to vacation and so on. Very little as far as religious compared to all the other threads. And I think this is a

  good thing. I feel more and more people are coming to terms with the idea that spirituality is different than religious.

  They are not the same thing under different names.

  Thus the one thing I can agree with J.F.Rutherford on is "religion is a snare and a racket".

  And more people are figuring this out and becoming disillusioned with religion.

  Hopefully this will lead to greater advancements in the scientific community as well as fostering peoples individual

  spirituality apart from jumping through hoops in the name of religion.

  I was reading on CNN news earlier and saw a subject that dealt with Acedia and felt it was relevant to what many on

  the forum are going through in life from your experiences and stories.

  It is a very short article but well worth reading.

  I'm interested to see if any others besides me can relate to some of the things that are mentioned in the article.
