VM44 I just contacted my friend/source again and he affirmed that the Louise Stemen in Maggie Valley,N.C. is the one and same as the one that was in Franklin years ago. So that means she is over 107 years of age and that would also mean that at least one of them off that Watchtower cover from back then is still alive. That is amazing.

1984 WT cover -- Watchtower's Final Failed Prediction?
by FatFreek 2005 inthe infamous cover of that 1984 watchtower (27 years ago) was perhaps the last prediction / prophecy of the watchtower society.
will there be any more or have they finally learned their lesson?
some think they are like a race-track junkie and are addicted to predictions.

Or actually now that I look at his last name, I see what my friend was referring to.
It is with two E's but not in sequence. Stemen has two E's whereas Steeman does too but in wrong place.
The correct last name then is Stemen and that would make the most sense with what my friends were describing to me.

Dear VM44
You are absolutely correct on the part of N.C. that you came up with.
That is the Congregation he was in when i knew them.
Thanks for posting that. Great hunting on the internet as well.
According to that it was with one E tho and not 2. But that was his address in Franklin,N.C. when they were there.

FatFreek 2005,
I just wanted to let you know that the names of the Steemans on this cover of the WT (the chiropractor and his wife) was Willis and Louise.
They lived in N.C. for a time in the 1970's.
I may have her name misspelled but his name most certainly was Willis.
I asked a friend that is a little older than me that was in same congregation in N.C. with them about the spelling of their last name and he said he feels sure that it was Steeman. I always thought it was Steiman but according to him it was 2 E's in the last name.
Thought I'd pass that along to you if it would help in any way.
The odd thing is I did a Google search on his name and got nothing about land ownership in N.C.
So I asked two others that were in his congregation in N.C. and they both said his name was Willis.
Only thing I can figure is he either didn't own the property were he was located and rented it or it was listed in another name.
And if I 've got the story straight it was after he left bethel that he and his wife went back to Florida.

by oompa ini just read this phrase on a thread about the 7-15 wt and how shunning of family is so important....it just made me laugh.....some sins feel so damm good....so why do they have to be temporary?.....i am starting a revolt....we need permanent enjoyment of sin!!!!!!

Oompa you remind me of that song that Billy Joel sings "Only the good die young".
Especially the part where he says he'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints. The sinners are much more fun.

This was also the second one in a row that me and my family missed.
It felt so good to be at home and enjoying ourselves without the feeling at the KH of being crammmed like sardines into a box.

Welcome to the forum moonguy!
That was some first post.
Very interesting how it turned out for you and your girlfriend after all that time away.
Hope to hear more from you in the future.
And my opinion is right now that both Apostates and college are creating problems for the Org.
If it wasn't causing problems for them,we wouldn't be hearing about it in the magazines and such.
Not sure which one is the biggest thorn in their side right now, but both are having an impact.
I will say this though. College was able to cause one of my in-laws to finally open her eyes and start to question the Org.

Here is a video of a tornado that hit in N.C. How can this guy stay so calm?
by StoneWall inok i try and stay calm in the event of an emergency but there is just no way i can be as calm as the guy in this video when you see the tornado go right beside him.
his truck is getting blasted with all kinds of debris.. i would have had to been on tranquilizers or drunk to even come anywhere close to being as calm sounding as he is.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugwjfoz-12c&feature=featured.
