Problems with the "Bogus AWAA Fan Page"..
by OUTLAW ingood afternoon jwn... .
i`ve spent the morning and part of my afternoon... getting to the bottom of... why names were added to the awaa fan page... it`s a dangerous thing to happen in our world... faders can be outed,we can lose,family,friends... the results can be an absolute disaster... .
aawa "did not" create the facebook awaa fan page.

Outlaw,
Why do you keep referring to it as AWAA instead of AAWA?
Or is there really a AWAA bogus group too?
I can see where this can cause more confusion on top of everything else if there's not two seperate groups.
I put this in bold to hopefully blend in with yours to catch your attention.
And if there is another group can someone tell me the difference?

Very Cool !
I've often wondered how many that post on here that I may have crossed paths with during my years in the Org.
Working at all those "quick build" kingdom halls in the past and attending so many CA's,DC's, SAD etc. I bet there's even more people that actually knew each other in the real world even if it was only briefly.

For any that may have been "Outted" on Facebook regarding joining a particular "Association"
by StoneWall ini can relate to what you're going through because i'm still in the "witness protection program" so to speak, due to family etc.. i would just like to make some recommendations/suggestions to help you with damage control because i hate knowing that you are having to face this in your lives at this time in addition to whatever else you're currently dealing with.. to me it is imperative that you take a proactive/preemptive stance in being able to get through this realtively unscathed if possible.. and it can be done.. first post on your wall on fb that you found out the hardway that facebooks privacy and security settings leave a lot to be desired.. let your friends/family know that you were not aware that others, without your knowledge or consent could add you to many groups out there whether you wanted to or not.. make sure not to name this particular "association or organization" in your message so as not to draw even more undue attention to you or/and it.. this way it further distances you to any perceived ties they may have that linked you with it.
by not using the name it also shows that there are others groups you may have been added to without permission not just this one.
that way it is all inclusive and it will help in your defense to draw attention away from what that one's main focus is.. then you can finish up by stating that you have taken steps to remove your name from this group as well as any others that someone may have added your name to without your knowledge.. you may also want to add that if anyone see's where your name has been added to a group that they would find hard to believe that you would join, to please send you a pm since everything doesn't show up on your personal wall and you may have no knowledge of it.. this is only my suggestions and you can use it to your advantage if so desire.

To me it is imperative that you take a proactive/preemptive stance in being able to get through this realtively unscathed if possible.
And it can be done.
First post on your wall on FB that you found out the hardway that Facebooks privacy and security settings leave a lot to be desired.
Let your friends/family know that you were not aware that others, without your knowledge or consent could add you to many groups out there whether you wanted to or not.
Make sure not to name this particular "Association or Organization" in your message so as not to draw even more undue attention to you or/and it.

It don't have to be word for word. Change it up to suit you but main thing is keep your reputation and family ties together.
It really pains me to see that many of you are even having to deal with this.
P.S. I have no ties whatsoever to the "Association" that is being referenced, so I'm not doing this in any way to save face or anything for them.
My only concern is with you the individuals that are having to do damage control. From one fader to all the rest of you that want to know the truth about the truth, without burning your bridges behind you that can help get even more of your family/friends out. I'm always grateful for the ones that kept tossing me bits of info while I was still so much in the Org.
Without them I highly doubt I'd be here now posting. I'd probably still be a "company man" waiting on the end that keeps staying just out of reach.
Anyways hope the best for each of you and that you can turn things around to your benefit/advantage.

just curious. How about blood?
by never a jw ini have never been a jw, but i have lived literally surrounded by them since i married my wife, almost 20 years ago.
since i never raised a fuss before, i guess i was also brain-washed into thnking that their religion was harmless and the leaders were well intended.. i have been reading your comments for many months and have come to realize how harmful the religion is.
your comments have been mostly about the pain inflicted by shunning, deception in the literature, and the views on higher education.

If you want a true story that will bring tears to your eyes, read the story of a member on here called Balsam.
You can go to members and click on the letter B then scroll for her name and read the bio she has provided there.
It is all about the blood issue and how it affected her family. I will not spoil it by telling you how it ends but will provide a link for you so that you can read for yourself. When I read it, I shed more tears that night than I had in many years.

'1600 years of Ice melting in 25 years is a bad omen'
by designs inglaciologists from ohio state university have been studying the ice fields in peru.
tropical peru is home to ice formations 18,000 feet up in the quelccaya region, the largest of these tropical region ice sheets.. the glacier is melting so quickly that plant samples are having to be frozen artifically so that scientists 30 years from now can have something to study, lonnie thompson from the university said in the interview.
the ice field is the smallest it has been since the last ice age.. peruvians rely on the water from the glaciers, which will be reduced by 50% in their lifetime.

@stonwall - although Dennis Ambler is biased source to the contrary of the anthropogenic global warming, it's really hard to argue this solid point he makes in his review of Doran/Zimmerman's report. I'd be interested to hear Doran/Zimmerman's rebuttal to these points
You and me both on the part I got underlined above in your quote. I'd love to hear Doran/Zimmermans rebuttal to this.

Thanks for the name besty!
I was able to google it and found some interesting articles realted to that study and it backs up what I thought about the numbers.
Here is a link and I'll post a partial quote from one site:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2672039/posts
Quote:
97% of climate experts agree humans are causing global warming.
I recently heard this claim on my own threads. I looked at the source (the study Doran and Zimmerman 2009), found some problems, and then wrote back on my threads. However, I have seen this claim so many times that I believe it would be good to make a post about it. I also e-mailed several prominent climate scientists who would be considered 'skeptics' to get their opinions on the study. Their responses are displayed at the end of the post. In this post I briefly comment on past responses to the study, then break my post into three sections. The first will focus on the flaw in the study (the second question), the second will look at the motives of the researcher, and the third will be posting responses from prominent 'skeptical' climate scientists. First I'm going to address a common response to this study. In this post at The Hockey Schtick, it is pointed out that the 97% statistic is based on only 79 climatologists, and that those participating were self-selected. There are two concerns here. The first is sample size. While climate science isn't a massive field, 79 participants is fairly small. To claim definitely that 97% believe this or that you would need to poll significantly more people. The second concern is the fact that the scientists were self-selected by an online survey. This may not have led to a representative sample.
Other concerns with the study deal with numbers behind it, or other reasons to consider it a poor study. However, these aren't my primary concern. My concern is the actual questions asked in the study, which I will show in a moment.
The study on which these claims are based is available here. It is an paper by Peter Doran and Maggie Kendall Zimmerman written in 2009, entitled "Examining the Scientific Consensus on Climate Change". Here is the citation:
Doran, P. T., and M. Kendall Zimmerman (2009), Examining the Scientific Consensus on Climate Change, Eos Trans. AGU, 90(3)

besty said in number 2 above:
2 - Why any poster denying the consensus is better qualified than the 98% of climate scientists who agree with the majority opinion that human caused climate change is a fact, similar to evolution and gravity. (putting the deniers in the Flat Earth Club)
Where did you get the 98% of climate scientists in the above statement? Was looking for a link or quote etc. Thanks

The building he was giving this discourse in actually reminded me of a large kingdom hall or a small Assembly Hall.
When the camera at the end showed the audience it even looked like how the rows of chairs at the K.H. were arranged.
Kinda ironic in a Hitchens sorta way. :)
