My Response to this;

Give me a freaking break. Have you ever read about the atrocities that happened during the Crusades?
This is so tiring about hearing how this generation is so much worse than previous generations.
Have you heard in the news lately about the beheading of people. NewsFlash read in the Bible about how David not only killed Goliath but also decapitated him. Read about how Samson ruthlessly killed Philistines and how Pharoah of old had all the babies at/near the time of Moses killed.
This generation is no worse than any that preceded it. The only thing that has changed is we have more people and more weapons with which to kill with.
Hell King David and King Solomon "evidently" had God's blessing even though they were each married to hundreds of wives as well as having hundreds of concubines.(Fornication/Adultery in today's world but I guess it was OK back then cause God doesn't change, he's the same then as now huh)

All this bullshit about how bad we are in todays Generation.

any others going to super bowl party in a few hours?who's your pick to win the big game?looks like they bringing more celebrities in for half-time show.i'm going to be pulling for the carolina panthers for two reasons: !

) i'm currently living in n.c. 2)would be nice to have a new team win it this year that's never won.i'm happy that at least the new england patriots aren't in this year's super bowl.

they are a great talented team but have just had my fill of them being in so many over the years.anyhow i just hope this year is a great game and that the half-time show doesn't suck.go panthers!!!!!!!!

I had to come home and drink a lot of coffee after that game.
The friggin Panthers are driving me to drink again. And I mean all kinds of different stuff.
I told myself when i arrived at the party I was going to stick mainly to beer. That didn't last but until maybe second quarter.
Praise Geebus my wife was able to drive back home after that fiasco.
And if there was any part of me that didn't want to start back drinking....the half-tiem show pretty much did me in.

I mean it's the 50 year Anniversary of the super bowl. For Gawd's sake perform something amazing. not that shyte.
It's bad enough to lose money on tjat game but hell give me at least a decent half-time show or some good commercials.
And Roger Goodell if thats the best you can come up with for a half-time show for the big 50....you need replaced as NFL Commisioner.

I'm happy that at least the New England Patriots aren't in this year's Super Bowl. They are a great talented team but have just had my fill of them being in so many over the years.

It's almost a perfect replication of what the JW's do with their "Special Announcements"
Always leaves you disappointed,wanting more or thinking...that's it. I got all dressed and left home to go to the Kingdom Hall for that.

I've been depressed lately.

my husband and i went to visit his family for the holidays.

not everyone showed for the visit ,the weather was lousy, and it just generally sucked.

now we're back to the same old routine with work and life and we're both depressed and alone.

Sorry to hear you've been depressed.
I guess it happens to all of us at some point(s) in our lives and can be hard to deal with.
There are some things you may want to try to hopefully brighten up your future.
These are just some suggestions that have helped me as well as others and it will be great if it can help you as well.
First go to Meetup.com and look for any Ex-JW meetups near you. (even if you are fading and don't want to chance going to one you can still check to see whats in your area)
Make sure to type in the search Ex-JW meetups to bring up the list.

Also I would strongly recommend going out with your hubby and trying new things such as sports,hobby's,museums and various volunteer work in your local community.
You can meet many nice people this way and maybe form some friendships that are not based on religion at all.
My wife and I have had good turn outs this way, as well as establishing relationships with some of our extended family that are not Witnesses.

i think this is a really well done video and has some excellent points made and presented.
Just one issue with it though.
At around the 7:35-7:38 time marks on this video he states that he has told millions then probably billions of people about the generation that wouldn't pass away.
There are very few people on this earth that have ever reached a billion people with any message (or even songs etc)
If he gave talks in every Kingdom Hall in the world and spoke at every Assembly/Convention, the most he would reach would be between maybe 7-14 million people.
Then add in every single person he could have possibly talked to in field service and I can grant you it would fall far short of the one Billion mark, much less Billions.
I think he got caught up in it and said billions by mistake but the rest of what I heard in the video sounded spot on and would like to say thanks for posting it and sharing your experience(s).

i have read a lot and watched some you-tube videos (some by marginally lunatic fringe christians - not necessarily invalidating) searching for asteroid september 2015 or comet september 2015.. there is some biblical evidence that, if one doesn't spiritualize / make literally invalid by symbolic exercise, that at the time of the end of the age there will be a uniquely severe, single great earthquake (isaiah 29:6, zecharia 4:7, haggia 2:6, revelation 6:12, revelation 16:18) and destructive objects described as hail, mountains falling from the sky, stars falling onto earth.

i note that ancients would not recognize the vastness of outer space and meteroids, asteroids, comets, planets being what we know them as.. there is also the exact symbol of "then the second angel blew his trumpet, and a great mountain of fire was thrown into the sea.

one-third of the water in the sea became blood, one-third of all things living in the sea died, and one-third of all the ships on the sea were destroyed.
