  Not so sure that you can say that Iraq gave us "permission" to be there. Bush, Obama etc have perpetuated the notion that we can be an occupying force to"keep the peace" in the region.

  That hasn't worked out so well from the start.

  I have no doubt that the man was a bad player. Not sure that give the US the right to have an air strike in somebody else's country. Covert would have been better IMO.

  Iwantoutnow, I also self-medicated especially after meetings and I think that at least half of the elder body did the same.

  It's funny because I don't drink liquor at all now.

  Don Adams has passed away

  i received a call from a friend in new york city that don adams passed away late last evening (30 dec 2019).

  many of you bethelites know him and he was the president of the society for a number of years after the gb got out of the corporate structure business.

  from what i understand, he was generally liked by many there.. some in my family knew him.

  How could the Witnesses possibly be deceived? They haven't clouded their thinking with higher education, they don't upset their spirituality with current events, an obvious tool of Satan the Devil, and they keep a tight community among themselves to avoid the contamination of worldly thinking.

  Jehovah's house for Sale?

  when i drive by the kingdom hall i grew up attending at but, was sold directly to a church, i get angry.

  the elders who handled the sale didn't even remove the watchtower shaped bricks on each side of the sign near the street so, now they advertise for a baptist church.

  how many times as i grew up i heard things like: you should not do work ( such as clean carpets for a church) you wouldn't want to work at a cigarette making plant or a facility that makes bombs for the military.

  Sorry, JohnTron, I didn't expect anybody to take my comment seriously. I was simply parroting the Witness view of abandoning "dedicated " Kingdom Halls to be used for pagan worship.
