Is it acceptable for JWs to put flowers on a loved one's grave?
by serenitynow! ini want to go and put some flowers on my grandma's grave.
she died 9 years ago feb 19. i haven't been out there since the funeral.
i can't remember where the cemetary is, and i will have to ask my jw relatives (who don't know my status) where she is buried.

Well this kinda answers some questions. When my dad died a year ago , the ONLY ones that sent flowers were my friends, supervisors and co-workers. My family were surprised when they started showing up to the Kingdom Hall.
Makes me sick.

I find it very hard to believe in a god
by Newborn inbut i find it equally hard to believe in the evolution theory .
so for now, i chose not to believe in anything but myself and love.
that was all.

Personally I think it makes great sense that a higher being created life and then it evolved!(Makes much more sense than the WTBTS's version of humans being created 6000 yrs ago)
Just a thought........

Outlaw,
You're a hoot! LOVE reading your posts! You're so original!
And I didn't have a choice. I HATED it. But I knew what would happen if I refused!
Freakin' cult!

DEATH THREATS TO CHILDREN OF JWs IF PARENTS FAIL TO GET THEM TO SELL WATCHTOWER PUBLICATIONS
by still wondering in.
jw parents are put under enormous pressure if they want their kids to live.
if parents dont want their children killed they had better get their kids to spend 6 hours a day selling the watchtowers children book or else.

I remember all the "bloodguilty" threats. You'd be "bloodguilty" if you didn't go in service, raise your children in the "truth", etc. What a bunch of bullsh*t!

I remember being very upset at the time. Not so much with the fear of Armageddon, but just in general. In the first few days no one knew what was going to happen. In my community people were getting stupid at the gas pumps thinking that a shortage was going to happen(one of the many rumors).
I remember talking to my dad when it was happening and him saying very casually, "well maybe this is the beginning of Armageddon". The tone was like he was just talking about what he was going to have for lunch. It was strange.
It was so surreal those first days and weeks after it happened.

do you miss anything from when you were a jw?
by Newborn ina few of my friends who also used to be jw's, say they miss certain things abt it...i can honestly say that i don't miss a single thing (my sister obviously who's still in but nothing else).. before i could sometimes miss having such a strong belief but that's also gone.
i guess i've moved on big time.

The fun I had with my dad at assemblies. Sitting with him. working with him. It really wasn't so much the assemblies. It was the time spent with my dad. But I also had wonderful times with my dad in many more ways. Daddy left me(died) this year. I wouldn't trade those times for anything in the world.
sigh

What Outlaw said......but a bullet takes less effort than stringing them up.....
We have a convicted rapist in our area that got reinstated in prison. Now he's JUST FINE(and on the loose in the local congregations) because Jehovah CURED him!!!!
