  i know this sounds crazy however being raised a jehovah's witness gave me the tools of respect for my fellow man.

  also my parents had a huge role as well,of course.. i just find today there are soo many twisted people who are amused by the sickest of circumstances and pride themselves on belittling people.i mean i am the first to say.

  i love funny sarcasm and making fun of the jehovah's witness religion because i believe in my heart its a crazy cult and way out in left field.

  your post was deep. When it was good it was good, but when it was bad, it was really bad. I have a lot of mixed feelings about my time with the JW's.

  I loved the camaraderie, and feeling of belonging. But then I hated the favoritism, and not belonging (DA'd, and such). Some of my best times growing up were with the Org, but then a lot of my confusion later in life, (sexuality, and trying to adjust to life after the Org) really made for some bad decisions, and feelings.

  So I guess you could say I am probably neutral on whether or not I was glad I was a J Dub.

  Defending others

  hey everybody,.

  i have tried in the past to defend others when i thought they were being abused.. case 1: a gay poster was banned, and i lobbied to get him reinstated to this board.

  eventually, he was able to come back on.

  dont stop defending people you feel need some back up. It takes a pair of nuts to stand up to a mob.

  I like the fact that, from what I have seen to this point, that you speak your mind. Dont quit doing this because some people dont appreciate your support. What are they going to do to you, reach over the internet and choke you or something.

  Stay true.

  usually the one that doesnt want to be friends anymore wont recognize his/her part in the failure.. in jg wifes thread about being friends with your ex the above comment was made.

  in failed relationships it's usually both parties that share the blame.. in the past three years since my divorce i have come to except my part in the break-up of our marriage.

  i have identified areas that i need to work on to be in a healthy relationship.

  I guess I just may be the exception to the both parties to blame, theorem. I single handley managed to ruin two marriages, and almost a third. When I look back at the jerk I was, and how selfish I have been, its not always easy to say yeah, I was probably about 98 % at fault.

  I have no idea how my wives stayed with me as long as they did.

  But people change (especially after 100 of hours of counseling and therapy), and I like to think I have changed for the better, at least on some levels.

  Have any of you heard about "The Cleavage Talk?" C'mon!!

  supposedly about the same time as the bethel visitor's dress code brochure, talks were being given in kh concerning women showing cleavage.. i don't know.

  i haven't heard any of these talks myself, but my folks tell me they have.

  they also told me about the talks given in other congregations (reported to them by their friends).. i guess some cos, pos, etc.

  Was there 7 years ago. Awesome.

  The vibe was, how do u say, like one big family. I have heard that it has gotten too commercial these past couple of years, but I can't say for sure.
