Let me add one more thing to that, Fadeout.
How many JW parents have "sacrificed" THEIR children for JEHOVAH by not allowing them to have a blood transfusion? I think he is MORE than paid back for HIS sacrifice.
my mother knows i have lots of issues with the org.
yet she still forwards me this crap as "encouragement".
i love my mother, but i wish i could get through to her that jw's aren't any more special to god than anyone else.

i know that this has been a popular post in the past.
but after my last post, it got me thinking.
i used to always use those stupid field service report slips as scratch paper.
Two things I don't get...how the heck SO MANY MEN can be brainwashed into not doing things that are the most sought after "activities" in the real world? No oral, no manual, no anything except missionary...are you KIDDING me? And not only to abstain from doing those things, but to also turn the wife in to a bunch of other MEN for WANTING to do some of those things. Wow, just wow.
One more thing...missionary is probably one of the least enjoyable positions for a woman (alright...for ME...but I can imagine this is the same for most other women). I'm wondering if this is just another way of the GB punishing women in the Borg. The guy can "get his" but most (if not all) the time the woman is left unsatisfied because of all the damn limitations. I know many women CANNOT be satisfied with sex alone...me thinks the GB knows this and that's why they put all the restrictions up. Sexist azzholes!!!
i just got off the phone with my stepmother (who is in the hospital with a shattered femur and wrist from a moped accident).
i had previously thought that her and my father were inactive, but now it appears they may be on their way back in to the borg.
we were talking about a visit she'd had with my daughter and how my daughter's father was calling constantly to "check up" on what was going on (nice little rant about what a jerk he is) when i hear her say "yeah, it was really irritating for him to be calling so much, we were getting calls from the brothers and didn't want him interrupting us!

It has been YEARS since I've had any kind of conversation with them concerning anything JW-related...now a week and a half after joining this site I find out they're probably involved again. Darn Satan for persecuting me!!! (Hey, if they can blame Satan for all the problems in their lives, so can I!)
I fear this may mean the shunning they've already been practicing with me will end up getting worse...to the point where we don't talk at ALL about ANYTHING. At least when they were inactive we'd have general conversation here and there and hung out together if I visited CT. This bites... Well, at least my two and a half year old (who they've only seen in person once) lightened the mood a bit. I put her on the phone and she exclaims "Hi Grammommy!!! I wuv vooooo!!!!" Got a chuckle out of my stepmom and a "awww that was cute", so who knows. Maybe the desire to be more involved grandparents will counteract the stupid shunning rule a little bit? I can hope!
Oh, but she's alright, in case anyone was wondering. Surgery went better than expected and it's looking like she'll graduate to the convalescent home on Friday if she continues to make progress. So that's good!
ok, not to change anyones religious beliefs or anything but just because in my weird head!
i think it would be funny to protest at the assembly, with a bunch of people wearing funny halloween costumes of all sorts.
i know that a lot of people here are against that sort of thing, but i want to do it just because it will funny.
I want to see pictures after the fact!
from age ten until today.
he was my friend; we used to play.
no im not really okay.
What a tragedy...my sympathies to you, his family, and all his friends. I can only imagine the pain you must be feeling. (((HUGS)))
I've gotten a prescription for Soma because of my fibromyalgia. Like you, Jamie, I took one and threw the rest away...they made me feel awful! If I went back claiming they had "worked" for me, however, I've no doubt I could have acquired refills...probably indefinitely.
i helped for 3 weeks helping convert 360 furman to bethel purposes back in the late 80s... 7th and 8th floors... new laundry, carpentry shops, etc... i know that the sale of furman has been posted here before, but has anyone posted the link to what is there now?
i posted on another thread, but thought it deserved its own topic,.. 360 furman (old shipping) now condos: studios starting at half million: http://www.onebrooklyn.com/ bet brooklyn heights is glad to have this building back on the tax rolls.. snakes (.
Maybe they should sell Stanley Hall if they're so broke...that place must be worth a FORTUNE! If owning places like that is "broke" then I don't want to know what they'd call me (and every other JW/ex-JW who's struggling to make ends meet because of their anti-college rantings).
will you people f**king relax?.
please.. warlock .
I'll relax when I get food in my stomach and my house is clean...neither of which appear to be happening anytime soon.
here's the text of interviews from the friday afternoon "young people - walk by holy spirit in the congregation" presentation at a 2008 jehovah's witness district convention.
this transcription approximately covers the second half of the presentation.
i've omitted names and locations to preserve individuals' privacy.
Steve...I currently have 12 college credits (toward my associates in psychology)...so I know all about it not being too late! BUT I also have six kids and have had to put off further studies for the time being because taking care of them and doing school work got to be too much. I WILL start back up again once we are better off financially and they are all in school, though, I'm definitely not going to let my upbringing determine the whole course of my life!
I guess the biggest thing that angers me is knowing that if I had college as a goal I probably would not have become a young mother. I probably would have worked through college, got a good education and job, THEN began my family like you're supposed to do. Instead I had low self-esteem and crappy WTS goals thrown on me to the point where all I wanted was someone who would actually LOVE ME unconditionally! Yeah, that worked out REAL well. Glad I had her (and my subsequent children)...but the price I've paid is tough to bear at times.
i have started to read about cults with the book by steve hassan.
i look over my shoulder at the library, no way in the world i will check it out or buy it and take it home.
thank you all for your recommendations.
Not saying this person is a troll or not but the "rules" versus what the BOE actually DOES are two different things. Just because he may know what they're SUPPOSED to do based on his experiences as CO etc. doesn't mean these self-righteous azzwipes he's dealing with are going to actually do that. I think he's more looking for other experiences where they've gotten past the two-witness rule and went on to hang a person just because they wanted to see them go down. He wants to know if they can still get him even though according to the rules they shouldn't be able to.
Could be wrong, but it's a thought.
and how many of you hate it??.
we've got to get a new computer because this one's about to die.
everything has vista, but i've heard so many people say they hate it.
I have Vista...haven't had any problems with it...compatibility or otherwise. I also have no problem cutting and pasting so not sure what's up with some people not being able to.
Of course, my husband is an IT so I'm sure he set it up to run properly and added everything needed to make it compatible with all the programs we use. Not sure how much I'd like it if I had been the one to set it up...lol.
