I find the hand holding thing weird too. I even knew one lady who would end it with a sudden tighter grip and a flurry of sudden shaking. There is a verse in the Bible that refers to lifting up hly hands durring prayer though ( in reference to the earlier post ) 1 Tim 2:8.

Holding hands during prayer.
by greenhornet ini remember with some jw family's during prayer every one would hold hands around the table.
i think it is like a cult or some pagan practice.
now that i am out of the box looking in, i find this practice weird.

Who are you?
by Brother Apostate inwho are you?.
they're the people who walk by obliviously, having trained themselves to not pay attention to details.. they're the people who read books but never read between the lines to see the big picture.. they're the people who watch movies, only paying attention to the obvious, missing the powerful story within the story.. they're the people who merely see the surface, never the 30,00 foot view.. they're the people who can't see the forest for the trees.. they're the people who never correlate history to what unfolds before our eyes in modern times.. they're the people who are forever controlled by group pressure and their wallet or pocketbook, who won't open their eyes to understand that the masses are easily led to their own downfall, that temporary discomfort for the right cause can produce great freedom from oppression and a new lease on life.. they're the people who never put it together to understand the big picture, and scoff at those who do.. they're the majority.. ba- and that's the way the wealthy elite want to keep it.. ps- who are you?.

Good thought Bro. I think fear is what locks some people into the majority. There is an inborn instinct that says " Run with the pack, don't stand out and maybe you'll be one of the ones that survive.". Those of us who go our own way have two fears to face, the unknown and the pack.

Hi Estee! I'm pretty new ( just topped 100 posts ). I'm really bummed that this site is ending. I'm just getting the hang of it and other sites I've tried are a little awkward. If someone would like to post some links to simmilar sites it would be appreciated.

Clergy-Gov.Control People
by cameo-d inaccording to this article, it seems that the clergy is now taking orders from the government.. .
a government plan to use members of the clergy to quell dissent and objections to government orders during a time of national emergency ..... .....primarily, "these clergy would already be known in the neighborhoods in which they're helping to diffuse that situation.
so government orders to abandon homes, turn over guns, leave livestock behind, or whatever would come to the minds of various officials during an "emergency," would be easier for people to accept, the report indicated.

If the intent was to safely evacuate people from dangerous areas with as few problems as possible then this could be looked at as a positive idea. The only question I have is why are my paranoid antenas tingling? By the way, my pastor wasn't invited to this training.

My dad had a stroke shortly after I started college and I quit to help out. I never ended up going back and I've regreted it ever since. It may seem like a bunch of crap sometimes and they are as bad as a religion for indoctrination. The only thing is this, if you get that sheepskin you will have lots of choices, if you don't you have to take whatever crappy job that comes down the pike. I know there are a lot of self made people out there but if you don't have a degree you'll sweat and bleed more to reach your goals.

The movie "The Firm"
by Lady Lee ini've seen this movie a few times and recently read the book.
then i watched the movie again.
the author of the book, john grisham, paints a pretty accurate picture of "the firm" as a business cult.

Really cool post! I saw the movie back when it came out, but at the time I didn't catch the underlying theme. I'll watch again.

Here is one of many sorces that can be found on the catholic church- http://www.chick.com/information/religions/catholicism/sevenhills.asp This one has footnotes for it's sources. I want to re-state the fact that I have nothing against the people that are members of the catholic organization or any individual associated with them. I have family members who are members of the catholic church. They didn't believe me either until they did their own research. They then concluded it wasn't like that anymore and stayed in.
