  Thanks both my kids are crying now!

  It made me think of the demon attacks I used to think would happen if I went on "apostate" sites. If I was a lurker I would probably have disconnected the computer and called the elders to confess by now

  gilwarrior your last post made me think of the movie "What's Cooking" it is the story of a Thanksgiving meal in four different homes a Jewish American home, a Mexican-American home, a Jewish-American home and an African -American home. Their lives intertwine in unexpected ways and the film deals with sensitive subjects such as homosexuality, premarital sex, guns, gangs,adultery, and dating after divorce.Interestingly enough the films director is female and East Indian-American. I have to buy it and make my family watch it this year on turkey day.

  Hey guys I was shocked to hear that you all liked Rushmore.
  I watched it and thought it was the worst movie ever.
  Now you have got me wondering what I missed. What was the point of the movie? What style was it trying to acheive? What was the message? It left me baffled and I felt sure that nobody else had enjoyed it either. Now it seems that I must have missed a big piece of the puzzle. I would appreciate any help in understanding this film.

  Yes I got mine last week. It took a full two months to get it. I had forgotten I ordered it. It's so small that I almost didn't see it in the envelope. Anyway it's at home still in the envelope I am afraid to carry it with me as someone pointed out in another thread it could be hazardous to your health.

  "Malena" just came out last year available on video at most hollywood video and the like. It is actually an Italian film and subtitled but very effective. It is about a young man coming of age during World War II.

  "Summer Story" I believe this was British film. Late 19th century setting. Takes you back to your first love and heartbreak.

  speaking of it's a "mad mad mad world" a similar film came out late last year "Rat Race" it was hilarious.

  other than the kingdom songs i`m sure we must have squeezed in some time to listen to the radio between territories and on the way to the mettings.. my musical tastes vary from classical to heavy head banging music,basically i like everything!i love the cult,rush,van halen,boston,etc anything from the 80`s retro era.. but my favourite song would be everything counts by depech mode and she sells sanctuary by the cult!.

  Post your worst date story!

  with all the nice guy/bad boy and do looks matter posts doing so well i thought it might be fun to do a worst date ever post.. so here goes mine: about 3 years ago my married friend had a neighbor she was good friends with he was a young widower with 2 kids and she thought we might like to get to know each other.

  so we agreed to meet for dinner at his apt (he lived 2 apts down from my friend so it did not seem awkward or unsafe).

  he cooked spaghetti and afterwards pulled out the old photo albums.

  Thanks to everyone for sharing. I no longer feel alone in the awful dates category! Boy if prizes were being awarded I would have to put my vote in for refiners fire. Your story actually had me cringing I don't know if I can stand to listen to that song now
