I always resented the fact that the visiting circuit overseers would evaluate the Publishers Record Cards to determine who was "spiritually strong." The WTS are bunch of freaking bean counters. And what of those who spend time visiting the older member of the cong or ones in hospital? They are overlooked for their noble efforts unless they also have the numbers to show on the report cared.

I have read most of this thread. I see a lot of name calling and insults and find it uncalled for. Why not just discuss the topic? I have seen many good thoughts on both sides and also disagree on many points.. I remember reading Darwin Origin of Species years ago ant thought that if Darwin was alive today he would not believe it anymore as the results of his expectations did not occur. This was mentioned several times. He also said that someone could interpret his research either way (prove evolution or creation) and both viewpoint would be reasonable. Sorry I don't have the book anymore or my notes or I would scan the appropriate pages for you.

What is the JW view on working for the defense dept?
by insearchoftruth inmy wife is very used to the relatively comfortable lifestyle we presently have, so how would a question like this go over:.
"i understand that the jws are very opposed to the military and military service....since i presently work for the department of defense, how is my employment viewed by god (or would i need to change jobs to become a jw?)?.
any thoughts?

If a catholic clergy did something oppressive the WT would say see they are wolves. if an elder does it they say even elders make mistakes, forgive them. There are so many accounts of this type of thing here on JWD and other site that the 77X is done out. It is just a well worn out excuse.

Why would you want to serve Jehovah?
by Anti-Christ infor all of you you believe in the watchtower doctrine i have a few honest and important (in my opinion) question you should ask yourselves.. why serve a god like jehovah?
you may find that question to be out of your comfort zone but i think it's important to examine the wt vision of the god you accept as real.

Power corrupts The slogan of every Judea christian religion should be love god or he will f*&ing kill you.(or torture you for eternity) Good comments anti- Remember Psalm 146 Do not put your trust in nobles or the son of earthling man ... Are the GB's not men? And 1john3 or something God is love he the the very embodiment and personification of love God loves you so much that he is going to kill you if you dont do what the WT says. Get your head around that one!
