A lot of factories give tours of their industry. This can be quite an education in itself.
Wanna see how maple syrup is made?
Sugarbush Farm

This isn't a factory, per se, but it is a tour through the woods on how maple syrup is collected and made. After being outdoors, stop by the sampling room for some sweet tastes!

If you are alone, you will meet lots of other people and can share some fun times. Just because you go alone does not mean you will have to be alone. Sometimes people will all gather for a cook-out, or at the fish cleaning table. You might be invited to go out on boat with others if they see you are alone. Usually the fish camps will have a restaurant with fresh fish on the menu everyday, in case you didn't catch anything. You don't have to fish. You can just enjoy the scenery and comraderie.

Winery tour......educating and fun. Wine is liquid, so why is it "dry"? You can learn a lot on these tours. Become more sophisticated. Taste the various wines as you develop a cultivated pallette. Meet other folks. Have an enjoyable day.

How about a visit to some place where they have tours of something interesting? An old mill, a manufacturing plant, a winery, a famous building, an earthworm farm, etc.
The worm farm in action
The Sansai Worm Farm is the dream of two brothers who started this business in their hometown of Cleveland, Ohio with the hopes of making Cleveland an example of how environmental and urban renewal can be accomplished at the same time. The dream was realized in 2005 with the purchase of a 32 acre property. The 17 acre facility, located in a converted inner city bombsite manufacturing factory, is also known as the former TRW Automotive Valve Plant in Collinwood. Now known as The Richard Melvin Building, the manufacturing facility has become the home to millions of red wiggler composting earthworms, who eat material, which othewise would go to landfills, for the harvest of worm castings which are premium organic plant additives. Sansai saves our planet from adding to dangerous methane levels produced at landfills. It also had plans to employ up to 400 people, from our neighborhood, in the next four years.

Maybe there is a public garden within a hundred miles or so. You can sit out and enjoy the sunshine and early fall weather, observe the glorious change of colors at this time. Walk, bike, sit, photograph, draw, paint, compose, read, feed ducks or peanuts for squirrels in park....unwind.

Look at locations that might be within a tankful of gas. How about a cabin at a fish camp? That's always nice and relaxing. Takes you into another world...at least for me it does. Even if you don't fish, it's usually a nice quiet place way far away where you can walk nature trails, discover wildflowers, get some exercise, or sit around and read a book outdoors, take pictures, write in a journal, just sit quiet and collect your thoughts, reflect on life without the disturbance of city traffic and distractions, etc.

andy5421...
What a cool new game! Maybe you can start a game thread with clips, and the one who finds it is next to post a shot for perusal. You will have to make up some rules for your new game....like the screen shot has to be from something that would be popular in the public and should be recognizable to certain groups of people.
I think you have hit on a neat idea for a new board game!

Why can't JW's eat from street vendors?
by TresHappy inmy parents said they received a directive from the society not to buy from the street vendors at the district convention.
is that just a unique situation?
i don't think this has to do with religion, but revenue...
