Ok well it is cool....but I am dubious of the 350 C.E. dating. As far as dating back to the kings and queens, that isnt necessarily so hard. But to relate events and genealogies that far back? Certainly not from the anglos? Very interested in how you arrived at that.

Dontcha just love m-w.com? Its fantabulous. And you demonstrate exactly what I said. Cult is religion. Which is of course the original meaning of the word. Usage naturally changes the meaning of a word, or rather expands it. So the word cult has moved from being inocuous to sinister. Whatever definitions one chooses to apply to the group though, there is little doubt that a great many people suffer at the hands of it. Even JWs themselves are uncomfortable with the topic of shunning, seeking to avoid discussions about their practice of it much of the time when they are broached by non-witnesses. This alone is an admission that shunning hurts. And it is that hurt that is used to bring people back to the congregation. Except of course that the vast majority who are shunned do not return.
Cult = Religion. Something folks need to wake up to when religions teach such immoral doctrines as the requirement to marry before having sex.

Need help to blow-off the elders
by Roddy ini guess i've been away too long, the local circuit overseer is coming, or the local circuit overseer has come by already and got on the elders' backs.
i got word from a relative that the elders would like to meet with me for a shepherding call.
i guess to 'help' me go back to the meetings.. i need adivce on how to blow them off for the year.

The advice I gave wasnt the advice I followed. I dont mind if the JWs shun me and I like varieties of controversy. So I told them plainly I was an apostate and would not let them DF me, nor follow their desire to DA myself. I told them I didnt believe in god and that God led their organization. I told them and showed them that their website claims they dont shun former members and that I am a former member and I KNOW the watchtower wouldnt lie about something like that would it? Because that would make them JUST LIKE EVERY RELIGION on the planet. If there is one thing JWs DONT want to be, its like other religions. So this prevented them from dfing me. Basically I made them follow their own rules while I followed my own.
The reason for the advice I gave was because roddy mentioned not wanting to be out just yet. I would also give the same advice to a DFed person who wanted back in touch with their family..fake it get back in then gradually fade...

I found that picture highly offensive. First of all both of them were smiling. He had grey hair and stuff. Clearly more watchtower controlled propoganda. He has a turtleneck symbolizing that very control..he is a slave. She is smiling because he is in bondage. He is smiling because he is not looking at her smiling at him being in bondage. PLus She has a red shirt on symbolizing the bloodshed of christianity in general.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Now I know I will never go back to the watchtower, the dirty jerks.

I dont know if this is the dumbest thing, but it racks up there. I am at my girlfriend's house. The doctor just called her father. Yesterday he turned in a urine collection of twenty four hours. Maybe a couple of quarts at best. The doctor told him the test is faulty because he turned in FOUR..count em FOUR gallons of urine! for a TWENTY FOUR HOUR collection!. Last time they rejected his sample claiming he turned in TWO GALLONS. These people are real idiots. Turns out they misplaced the decimel. But shouldnt a doctor know that people dont pee four gallons in a day and that a man with a walker cannot even CARRY that damned much urine by himself?
