I watched a few Next Generation episodes...thats about it. I figured that if this was a prequel , it may be a good place to start, perhaps even inspiring me to start watching the movies already out?

with an opening of 74 million this is offically the biggest trek movie ever!
the record of 30 million star trek "first contact" is broken.
with roaring ratings the writers are saying all cast members are signed up by contract to a sequel...they are reading trek books to prepare with talk of "kahn" and many former bad guys returning.

I have never watched a Star Trek movie before. Would this be a good place to start? I always skipped the other ones cause i never watched the first one...

up here in coldville, we got the iphone a year ago, and i actually stood in line for this highly anticipated little gadget.
in february i had streak of bad luck and lost mine... but i just got another last week!
once you use this phone, there is no going back.. i was a little paranoid about "jailbreaking" my phone when the cracks first came out last year.
I have heard this too midget. If you are able to restore your iphone back to factory conditions, how will they have evidence of doing this? What things do techs look for? This is a software hack, not hardware.
Thanks

about a year and 12 ago, after much conversation with a jw co-worker, we began a formal study.
we studied religiously (no pun intended) almost every week unless i was on business travel or there was a sickness or other item that precluded us from getting together.. .
during that process, we became very strong, close friends... at least that is what i thought was happening.
Reading Ptuckers comments indicates there was some "heart to heart" talking, as he was genuinely hurt...so I thought I would ask some questions to help clarify. And my questions have what to do with you Steve? I'm not sure if your being a dick or not. Questions lead to more questions, and I am more than happy to engage in conversation rather than read into what a poster may be "suggesting". For all you know, his friend my be having a harder time with this than you or I know. Your a real gem. The Witness in question may not even be aware of his own feelings to even be able to "front up". As much as they are all the same in one way or another, their not all exactly the same.

"I finally got an email back in which he said he just did not have the time for me."
So sorry to hear about your woes Ptucker. It's sad to think that I have acted like this myself towards other people. As a JW you have to be able to block certain things out, and this dear friend of yours sounds like he is acting on his conditioning.
You did spend a LOT of time together though. Can I ask if the ways you got to know one another, were they superfical? In your talking with one another, did he talk about himself much, or was it more about his views of life according to the religion?
In his response to you. Was it short and sweet, or long winded and beating around the bush?
Thank You for sharing,

I d/l a different keyboard layout for the iphone - its called ITypeFastR. They make some of the more common letters on the keyboard bigger than others. I have always despised not having a physical keyboard on he iphone, but its a great program to improve keyboard accuracy.
I d/l a font changer yesterday too. You can change your iphone fonts even....and you get a huge variety! Old english even.
If you do it, make sure you backup in case something happens to go wrong.
Please let me know if you do. Im actually excited for ya...lol.

VIII - You can break it without a Mac too. Quickpwn is available for windows as well! The whole process takes less than 10 minutes. It installs an icon called Cydia , and through that icon you get all the goodies. Quickpwn is free, and there are lots of video's on youtube to walk you through it.
You can still d/l regular apps from Apple too!
xgps is a program you can d/l after your phone is Jailbroken. Turn by turn navigation as you drive....and it talks to you too!

Q1 - You really hit the nail on the head Blondie. I had an argument with a JW friend a while back about it being all about his "name".
GREAT point!

I was a little paranoid about "Jailbreaking" my phone when the cracks first came out last year. Since then though, it looks as though things are a lot more stable with it now, and I just thought I would share it, considering some here must have the iphone themselves.
I have a Mac, and I used the program Quickpwn to jailbreak or "unlock" it. I followed instructions off of youtube, and now that I have actually done it, I have to tell others, since it is so easy. Even a caveman could do it!
I loved my iphone without jailbreaking it. Now that I have, I have to say there is no going back now. It makes the whole experience of having an iphone SO much better. It is extremely customizable now. There are programs you d/l (for free) that let you do things with the iphone that Apple will not. Change your logo's, your lock screen, even the touch keyboard can be changed! Custom ringtones galore too. Right now my desktop on my iphone looks like a vending machine! There are literally hundreds of things you can do with your phone now.All the icons are even customized to make your iphone...yours!
One of the very best things about this, is that you can change it back to the original factory state if anything happens to go wrong, or if you happen not to like it. 3.0 is coming out soon, but with a Jailbroken iphone, you can do a lot of these things already.
If you have been thinking about it, it really isn't that hard to accomplish, and you may love your phone even more than you do already.

hey there....i'm taking a leap here.
i really enjoy reading all the threads on here and think you're swell folks.
but with all the anonymity, its still kinda lonely to not "know" who you are.
Snakes said he doesn't update his blog to often, so I'm guessing the JWN shutdown he speaks of is old...
