this the most interesting wlc debate i have seen, it is confined to the subject: "can morality exist without god" and wlc seemed quite off balance at several times.
wlc went after kagan with his usual set of objections, paraphrasing from memory:.
without god there can be no objective standard of moralitywithout god there is no accountability and the universe eventually burn out, hence why does it matter we behave morally?what is the moral thing to do and what is the beneficial thing to do for the individual is often at odds, in the absence of god, why choose the moral thing?and so on.

[U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Rachel] Height points to another old cure that has been discovered anew: whole blood. Over many decades, scientists found ways to break blood into its components — white and red cells, platelets — and store them each with a different shelf life.
But the carnage of U.S. battles in Iraq forced doctors to hold blood drives right on base, and they discovered that fresh, whole blood works wonders at resuscitation, says Height.
"It's pretty exciting to take care of people that literally died on the table at a down-range theater yesterday, come to us, and within a few hours, we can take his breathing tube out and they're talking to their family," she says.
In Vietnam, saline was used to keep blood pressure up, but that seeped into the respiratory system, causing a deadly ailment known as Danang Lung. Whole blood leaves the lungs healthier, which means patients can avoid a host of potential problems associated with ventilator machines and general anesthesia.
The January 2011 issue of Awake! quotes Jerry Bergman, a noted critic of Jehovah's Witnesses, in the article "The Inverted Retina" part of the "Was It Designed?" series. The quote is from an article he co-authored with ophthalmologist Joseph Calkins, which can be found here. While, he wasn't quoted as a critic of Jehovah's Witnesses, but as a critic of evolution, I find it interesting that a Watchtower publication would quote him at all.
Do you think that this is an oversight or was the quote permitted because it was not related to his writings about the Witnesses?
Also, I was unable to find out whether Jerry Bergman himself was ever a Witness. One source said that he was raised as a Witness, but did not give any further details. Does anyone else know?

Does the WBTS register their copyright with the Library of Congress? I know that a work is considered copyrighted when it is put in fixed form (written in this case), but it must be registered before the copyright holder can take legal action against an infringer.
Also, any work published in the United States must have a copy deposited in the Library of Congress. Is a copy of this new "Shepherding" book held by the Library of Congress?

I have the 2008 CD-ROM version and did the search too. I noticed that the last article with the UN mentioned at all was the 11/15/2001 issue of the WT.
You might want to check again. I've found 39 mentions of the United Nations in the Watchtower between 11/15/2001 and 2008.
