washington (reuters) - the united states released more than a thousand intelligence images of arctic ice to help scientists study the impact of climate change, within hours of a recommendation by the national academy of sciences.. in an unusually fast move by a u.s. government agency, the interior department made the images public on wednesday.
the academy's report urging this action was released at 11 a.m. on wednesday.. some 700 images show swatches of sea ice from six sites around the arctic ocean, with an additional 500 images of 22 sites in the united states.

by villabolo inrain, winds, record heat hit northeast on same dayby david sharp, associated press writer david sharp, associated press writerthu dec 3, 5:47 pm et end .byline portland, maine a storm packing blustery winds and driving rain knocked out power to thousands of homes and businesses in the northeast on thursday before giving way to sunny skies and record high temperatures all in the same morning.utility officials reported sporadic power outages from maine to new jersey after wind knocked down trees and power lines early thursday.
winds reached up to 49 mph in brunswick, maine, while the isle of shoals off the coast of new hampshire recorded a 61 mph gust.
in new jersey, wind speeds topped out at 45 mph.. but the rain and wind that battered the region early thursday gave way to sunny skies and unseasonably high temperatures by mid-morning.. in boston, the temperature hit 69 degrees, breaking the old record of 65 set in 1932. in portland, the temperature climbed to 68 degrees crushing the old high of 55 for the date.

Was Jesus a hunchback, unibrowed dwarf?
by villabolo ini recall some time ago reading a book (i forgot the title) that stated that there was an early church tradition about jesus being deformed.
one source described him as being 3 cubits tall-41/2 feet (males at that time and region were on average 5'4"), hunchbacked, long face with a unibrow that made him look terrifying when he looked at you.. i was wondering if any of our scholars, leolaia or narkissos are familiar with this issue and perhaps enlighten us with some references.. villabolo.
