Take care and I hope you come back. I am going to stop responding to it myself. I have no reason to spar with someone like my Mother. (edited to add: not you, ae--)
Best wishes.
bit fed up tbh , the recent lies and slander levelled against me which has remained unanswered has left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth, plus probably spending a little bit too much time on web forums, see you all in a while.

when i was attending, an elder would never give tacit approval to a jw's participation on a website like this.
back then procedure was a harsh warning followed by disfellowshipping if the behavior were to continue.. when i was being raised a jw, no witness in good standing, let alone a pioneer, would ever consider allowing his/her children to attend a halloween or birthday party.
seems as though the days of "mental regulating of youth" are in the rear view mirror.... how great is that?
VIII what is a mass? Ive been to funerals, they sing and chat about the person end of.....logic....yes you clearly havent.
False stupidity is sooo ugly. Google it. I'm sure the GB won't mind.
but,
Your calling it "a mass" means you already know what it is.
well today for the first time ive felt i can finally let my hair down and laugh and joke with you guys.....yup....you shall see the funny mad side of me too, that way you'll know im human (not a vampire) lol...... thanks guys......today was a huge turning point for me :) and im happy, real happy...xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
AGuest--I like your post.
I think we've been punk'd. As JWOODS so eloquently put it.

In the US, a true, strong JW would never step foot in a church. No matter it be for a funeral, where a Priest or Pastor etc., will give a Mass for the deceased or a marriage. I recently attended a funeral at a Catholic church for a deceased and a full mass was held. Neither my Mom nor any of my JW relatives attended.
Why? Because the Priest gave a full on Mass. With Eucharist. I am sure you know what that is.
So, go, have fun at funerals. Which I totally don't believe.
Why Marriages are off limits is beyond comprehension. Only a brain dead JW could come up with that one. Zero on the logic scale.
Run Forrest, Run!!!

Sheesh, next thing you know angel eyes will tell us that she will let her kids go (or she does) to funerals in churchs of other faiths. Or marriages of non-JW family members in their churchs!! Jah Forbid!!
Fun Forrest Fun!!!
Here's an article from US News and World Report, How to Survive When You Hate Your Job:
http://www.usnews.com/money/careers/articles/2009/07/08/how-to-survive-when-you-hate-your-job.html
You've probably already read it, but, it might help.
Also, here is another article:

If nothing else, they will give you something to read and think about for a few minutes.
Sorry for your situation. There are a lot of canned answers. Without knowing more of your situation, other than you hate it, it is hard to give advice.
i used to go out in service and i always felt not wanted.
i would meet for service and if they could they would send me home, no one wanted me with them in their car groups.
and yes i did shower before going.
Hi and welcome to the board!
While life is too short, you still have much to look forward to and as you start to see daylight leaving the cult that is the Watchtower, you'll start feeling better and better.
I hated going out in FS. Hated it. I think a lot (most) of us on this board didn't like FS. Once you are out of the cult you realize you were an unpaid door-to-door salesperson for a publishing corporation. And, one that very rarely got to get the literature into the homeowners hands. (if you're honest-- )
I have had lots of talks with my Mom who is still a die-hard JW about all the abusive practices of the JWs. She explains it exactly as your husband does--"There are always bad people in every organization....blah, blah, blah."
One of the most helpful books for me has been by Steven Hassan, "Combatting Cult Mind Control"--it is very good and many on this board have read it. You may want to read it. It has been very good explaining the JWs and how they really are a cult.
You may have to keep it away from your husband for now.
Good luck on your exit!
"in the early 1920's, a featured public talk presented by jehovah's witnesses was entitled 'millions now living will never die.
' this may have reflected over-optimism at that time.
but today that statement can be made with full confidence.
How many attended the Memorial this year? How many partook of the Emblems™ (gagging as I type that)?
13 years ago "The Memorial report for 1996 shows that 12,921,933 attended, of whom only 8,757 (.068 percent) indicated their heavenly hope by partaking of the emblems."
Wasn't it more this year? Partakers that is?
How can the Annointed possibly stay steady or go up? And how can the Society explain it? Why doesn't the R&F question it?
ok, im putting my neck on the line here but ive always believed that children should be raised to make their own choice, if to serve jah or not.. i wasnt ever forced to believe in anything, any religion etc, although my background is very complicated.. anyway, hubby and i have always thought that how can a child decide if they dont know what other things are, ie birthday partys, halloween etc.
so, our children are allowed to choose if to go places etc.
last year our little boy said he didnt want to go to a halloween party, this year he said he might.
Run Forrest, Run!!
Yes, I was raised as a JW.
No, I didn't like it.
No, I didn't have a choice. Jehovah would kill me at Armageddon if I didn't get baptized. Armageddon didn't come around in 1975. His bad.

Hey the guy was a JW!! We need to support each other. And, he was working on the National Debt (not ours, Canada's, but, hey, we're neighbors):
DJW is a former Jehovah's Witness who now follows the Old and New TestaMents of the Bible. Here’s what happened, according to a summary of the case in the judge’s ruling: DJW became interested in circumcision after reading THE books of Richard Hoskins, who advocates circumcision and claims there are Biblical answers to "all of the problems in society, including the number of abortions and homosexuals, and the national debt," judge wrote.
