Why isn't this type of stuff getting to the media?
The JW belief of "leave it in Jehovahs hands" is beyond crazy.
this person did a great job putting this together... i am disgusted with wt policies & them acting both judge & jurywatch "noonespecial - rapists - jw" on .

did any of you know a jw youth who didn't seem to really even try to be sincere about the "truth"?
not someone who led a double life while pretending to be a goody-goody jw.
i mean the kind of kid who went to the meetings and did field service while making minimal effort at maintaining a pretense of being a true believer?.
I would question the logic of every Watchtower and Awake article and everything the WTBTS put out that went against what my Mom said at home. Such as her agreement with Women's Liberation (this was the late 1960's and early 1970s) and yet, the WT position that women should be in subjection-My Mom hated that, yet, went along. When I, as a child under 10 years old, would ask her how she believes the WT on this, her answer would be "Shut up, it's The Truth." Uh, yeah, sure.
There are so many examples of the lying and hypocricy of the JWs, I knew, before 1975 and the Armageddon fiasco, that they were a bunch of fraudsters. And I didn't have the Internet to go back and look at old articles and things Russell and Rutherford had said and done.
My way of dealing with it as a kid and as a teenager was to go out in service and be bored, play loud music as we drove door to door, I would question the others in the car and make them uncomfortable. Then I would just shut up and let them think about it. I never got DFd, but I faded as soon as I got to college.
I was a very lackidaiscal JW. I stayed in because I needed a roof over my head. My Mom would have thrown me out if I had left before that and in the late 1970s to early 1980s there were not many options for young women. So I bided by time and left when I was in school. I went back home and lived for a while but since I was working my Mom let me off the hook on going to meetings. I worked a lot of OT. I had a great reason to miss FS-every Saturday we worked. Money! And, since I paid her rent, she couldn't say No to me working extra. Her greed won out over FS.
So, I was flipping out way before I actually left. Like lots of folks here.
how can one not be a citizen of their own land??.
yes the act of 1924 granted u.s citizenship to those native .
americans who were not already u.s. citizens.. prior to the passage of the indian citizens act of 1924, nearly .
Very interesting thread. Usually these are targeted at the USA; I don't have answers, yet I'm now very curious to watch this play out.
........ well at least the ones i encountered on my recent holiday to orlando.
now i know that its a tourist destintion so everyone working in the hotels and parks are on their best behaviour.
but i have been to tourist towns here in the uk and europe but not one is on a par with you guys.. my husband and i haven't stopped talking about to anyone that wants to listen.
People in the south do seem to be very friendly, overall. In the northern states, not as much. Glad you enjoyed your visit!
resurrection.
the lives of the people of arcadia, missouri, are forever changed when their deceased loved ones return.. .
so far it seems to be an interesting take on the subject.
I watched both episodes. I, too, thought it odd that the kid, Jacob, never asked what a smart phone was, or flat screen TV or why cars looked so different. And, why do his parents look like grandparents would? Hasn't he figured out that the nice doctor is his baby cousin all grown up? And, no questions on why his best friend is now an adult? I hate when they don't answer the obvious.
Overall, it looks interesting!
eve says, "this is .
" so eve eateth of the tree.
so adam eateth of the tree, also.. and he blamed eve for everything.
The History of the World, Farkel Style. He should have written for Comedy Central.
i recall when woody allen split and married his adopted daughter and this originally came out - dylan farrow put this out for everyone to see after allen won his latest award - some people have never believed her story - swife.

Woody Allen, from what I recall, had lots of nude photos of Soon-yi when she was about 18. That alone puts Him in the major Creeper category. He was her almost father. They were dating for 10 years at that point and Soon-yi knew him since she was a young girl. Would you want your young daughter texting naked pictures to your grandfather or Boyfriend? Which, at his age, 50's, he was.
Yuck.
Whether or not she was molested, I'm curious why everyone completely discounts what she says and when a boy says it about a Catholic Priest 25 years later, everyone yells "Hang Him"!
Seriously, WD has issues. So what if he's a good director. He's still a perverted old creeper who slept with his almost daughter. If he were Joe Citizen, the DA would have pressed charges and let the justice system handle it.
My Mom does this. This is the new urban way to do field service. She says it's so much fun to go out in Service now because they call on Doctors offices and office buildings and everyone is so happy to get the free magazines for their waiting rooms! I literally choked back a laugh.
They don't realize that the moment the door is closed, 99% of the people there throw those in the trash.
i have hesitated to post anything about my recent encounters with our jw doctor, because i don't really want anyone to insult her or me, for continuing to rely on her for medical care.
our family doctor is a jehovah's witness.
we were referred to her by our former bs conductor.
Being a JW and being a Doctor sounds so...Oxymoronic is the only word I can come up with. How could anyone go through medical training either as a JW and still believe that crap or, even worse, be a MD and become one?
Wow. No matter how nice she was I'd never go to her for medical advice/help.
grappling with conscience .
a must read, i wept by the rivers of babylon,a prisoner of conscience in a time of war, is an important self-portrait of a naive young man, terry walstrom, who in 1967 thought he was obeying his conscience when he refused to take up arms and kill.
inasmuch as he was a conscientious objector, walstrom could have availed himself of noncombatant service in the military, but he was opposed to that arrangement.
Congratulations on writing and publishing your book Terry! You are one of my favorite posters here. I will purchase it to read your story.
As to sending it to some JWs-I would. What are they going to do? As you suggested their curisoity may get the better of them and perhaps they will have their eyes opened.
I'm very glad you got to get your story out there to a broader audience.
