  Would you go back for the social aspect?

  i mean aside from wanting to keep in touch with family who are still in.

  would you ever go back just to have the social aspect in your life?

  i personaly wouldn't but i'd like to hear from you all about it....

  memories of assemblys gone by.... does anyone remember crystal place assemblies?

  the jubliee stand was the stand to be in, because it got the shade in the afternoon, wereas all the other stands would be frying.

  i rember there was a mad insane dash for those seats everyday.

  I remember flying for those seats at Hawthorne Race Track. I never was quick enough. I had a cousin who could run like the wind. She would get ahead of the pack and could get in front of all the boys, would shove her way in and, voom, she was in. She would put song books, bibles, and mags on every seat she could for as many family members as possible.

  More than once though we sat outside in the heat, rain and humidity. Those were the days. I thought they'd never end.

  today my 15 year old daughterand i went to the local craft fair, went to olive garden for lunch, then ran over to ross to shop a little, and as we were walking out of the store, low and behold, who was coming straight at us??.

  (my daughters grandmother.

  ) she was headed straight toward us.

  Lady Liberty, I am so sorry your daughter had to experience this from her grandmother! What horrible, unloving, blind loyalty to a cult. It is unbelivable.

  Hopefully, you can explain to your daughter that your MIL is blinded by loyalty to a man-made organization and might come out of it. I am sure her grandmother loves her, just can't express it.

  What if those df'd......could they?

  i've recently seen that some teaching have changed.

  so my question is, if someone was df'd for instance for divorcing there partner for having gay relations and this was years ago when there wasnt grounds for it, so they were df'd, if now because the understanding has changed, could they appeal and be reinstated with a public apology?.

  Do you think ex Jehovah's Witnesses make better people?

  i am new to this forum and i just stumbled upon it and have been intrigued with the comments and experiences.

  i have not been envolved for a long time now but my entire family is still is.

  grandparents, mother, my step dad, and my entire family on my grandmothers side.. but most everyone here, from what i have noticed, has strengthened my belief that if you were a jw at one point, you now are a stronger and better person for it.

  Why do the JWs discourage upper level education?

  Where in the Bible does it say women cannot wear pants out in Field Service?

  Why must JW adult women put a napkin on their heads to show deference to a male child when praying?

  Why did the GB, as late as the 1960's, compare women to Cows?

  There are so many examples of sheer stupidity on the part of the totally uneducated GB I could go on and on.

  I don't think the JWs make someone better in anyway, shape or form. They encourage brain dead following. Like all Cults. They are a C-U-L-T.

  And, no, I don't think learning how to sell magazines door to door is a good skill. Unpaid labor for a book publishing corporation. It's called Slavery. Cult Style.
