  lately, even late night comedians are starting to make fun of the president.. i hear more negatives about the president than ever before---even from his own voters.. (i had high hopes for him when he beat mccain but since then, i believe the president has been a huge disappointment)..

  Wasn't the Senate and Congress Democratic (meaning controlled by a majority of Democrats) when Obama took office? Oh, yeah. He still couldn't get what he wanted done. He could have shoved through legislation that was critical to his "Legacy" then.

  Perhaps if s/he were Serena Williams and wrote a book about the JWs and how awful and deceifful they were s/he'd have more credibility and a lot more people would read it and pay attention. And it actually might make money!

  Since that isn't likely to happen, ex-JWs from out of nowhere will continue to write books no one will read about their unique experience (thinking it's unique, when it's really not, we've all been there, done that) and hope they have that best seller that will be made into a blockbuster movie.

  I'm going to go out on a limb and say this isn't the one. Heck, no one cares about all the famous Scientologists coming out. Why care about some ex-JWs?

  when i got home from work this afternoon my wife was standing near the door looking at me and said you need to sit down i have some hard news to tell you.

  so i sat down and she began saying my brother called and i imminently ask if my mom had died.

  she said no but my mother told my brother a deep family secrect that no one knows about.

  Wow, what a bombshell!

  I would do a google search and try to track him and the mother down. I wouldn't initiate contact until you have some idea of what their family life is like and what their life circumstances are. There could be great resentment on both of their parts for your father not supporting them.

  Or, the mom may have remarried/hooked up with someone else and said that the son was that guys child. This would rock their world to find out that you and your family are the half-siblings. You need to really think this through.

  Do you know the Mom's full name? Perhaps look for death notices to start. Work backward. Ask your brother as much info as you can to try to determine what he really knows. And your Mother. What did/does she know? Why now after all these years is this being brought up? Did someone contact her?

  Try not to make an emotional decision or go to quickly. I can only imagine the emotions you are experiencing.

  i finally got through all five seasons on netflix.

  this series really floundered toward the end...sometimes the plot devices made characters like sloan do some wacky things...hes evil, hes good, hes evil, hes good.

  Interesting. I watched every episode and often thought that the similarities between the WT and the Alliance were weird. It was too bad the way the show ended.

  this is the letter i wrote back in '96 about the parousia.

  following the '95 watchtower that disconnected the "generation" from 1914 i began to look carefully at end-time prophecy and soon discovered what i knew were basic errors in what i had been taught.. i was a loyal jw at the time and was still serving as an elder.

  i used only watchtower publications in my research.

  Very sorry to hear this OTWO. You are a great brother to be helping your sister so much.

  My sister was in a very similar situation with her POS husband as she was dying last year. Her situation closely parallels your sisters. BIL refusing to work, asking MIL to pay the bills etc. Sis got a restraining order against him a few years ago. Then when she knew she was terminal she allowed him to be power-of-attorney. That sealed her fate. At least, right now, your Sister is letting you help her. That's good.

  Hang in there. Try to remember any positive memories of your sister. You'll cherish those later.

  This blog write up, which I read in full, was one of the best! It was funny and on point to all the crazy stuff JWs do and believe. Pretty impressive. He must have been bothered to the boiling point and blew.

  Wy isn't this crap mailed to a media outlet? Ask someone in the Press to go to the WTS and ask them their current beliefs on rape and how a woman should react. I get the feeling they would have an interesting reaction.
