  Coronavirus Positive

  hey all,.

  i'm day six of isolation, confirmed to have coronavirus.

  i have been seeing very sick cv positive patients over the last month in my a&e role (emergency physician) it was inevitable i would contract it.. just wanted to give some symptom and treatment advice, it's anecdotal but may help.. started as sore throat and headache, then croaky voice, then dry cough, then episodic transient fevers, all this over the first few days.

  I literally just got this PDF from my Mom; she BCCd me on an email she sent the local Elder to prove that she is following the Society guidelines on what to do...

  This is CRAZY!! I speak to her daily (she’s 800 miles away and speaks to me even though I’ve faded years ago) and she sounds like she understands what’s going on; then I get this and realize she’s completely brainwashed and won’t do a thing unless the WTBTS approves it. 🤮

  she actually made a comment that she wished antmo 3 was her dad and that he is so cool.

  My PIMI Mom gets the daily calls from a local Elder. It is under the guise of checking on her health. I call her daily also, so I know that they are watching her closely. She is convinced this is the start of the Great Tribulation and Armageddon is right around the corner.

  They're completely NUTZ! But, those daily calls are really getting to her. She sounds more and more unstable. She’s 81 and is losing her mind with the social distancing. Those calls from her cult members are reinforcing her Armageddon dream.

  My ExElder Best Friend Has Coronavirus

  this has been a horrible month.

  my best friend’s wife just called to tell me that my friend had to be hospitalized due to severe coronavirus complications.

  he has severe pneumonia, is put on a ventilator and is in a coma .

  think of the possibilities, if this technology is all they have to stay in touch with their minions think of the wonderful possibilities..... 1. think of what just one molotov cocktail or flame thrower could do to their broadcasting room and the "world wide work.

  2. or better yet if "v" (for vendetta) hacked into their broadcasting system...and told them the real truth.

  3. just one rogue bethelite could have all kinds of fun..... i can dream can't i.....

  My family is convinced it's the GT. Sent me some ridiculous emails telling me that. Also, all the links to sign in so I could listen to the meetings by ZOOM.

  They are calling them every day to verify that they will sign-on for the digital meetings. My Mom is getting daily phone calls.

  Thanks, Simon!

  I was way out but always hoping that there was a community of Ex-JWs. I found the site and always read it and contribute. I was on here way back and came back on so many years ago when trying to get my family to see TTATT. I gave up and they are all still in. I come here to realize I'm not alone and they are still in a cult and I'm not losing my mind when dealing with them.

  This is absolutely the best site.

  When someone is in a cult and brainwashed it is hard to reason with them. My whole family is in and I deal with this almost daily when I speak to my 80-YO Mother. She is the picture of Stepford JW woman. She recites the bible verses, the mags, the books, and other propaganda; I know the stuff by heart.

  She also drove off my father because she was looking for a better model to take into Paradise after Armageddon (1975). Unfortunately, for her, the Big A never occurred and she was left alone. She has countless female friends just like her. There is something in that KH water...

  If you want to stay married use the "Subjection" card. Even my Mom was biting her tongue when Dad told her to do something and he said "I'm the man and in charge, the Bible says so..."

  If you don't, well, you have so many avenues to have her kick you to the curb as an Apostate.

  The tough part is a JW will bring up "This System" and how bad the world is to try to suck you back in. I just grunt and say I have to use the bathroom and get off the phone.

  Regarding Tenacious story above ^^: with all the license plate readers out on LEO vehicles, they know instantly if you have any outstanding warrants, etc. You were in violation of the law and he gave you a ticket for it. Your plates were expired. Good for him. That is one of their jobs.

  I routinely drive on a highway where the speed limit is 70 MPH. There are always LEO, Sheriffs, and locals, who routinely drive 85. So, I get right behind them and follow. The traffic parts like the Red Sea for them. They are off duty and/or going home. They have not pulled me over in years for this. If a State Highway Patrol did it I would cruise at 70-The State Highway Patrol has jurisdiction over that road.

  I've had very few encounters with LEO and am happy they are out there protecting us.

  many of us who are old timers in "truth", will clearly remember how we and the organization gloated when christendom began selling off their churches, as we saw many ending up becoming cafe's and art galleries.

  i personally remember being told (both in general conversation and in print) that the fall of their congregant numbers meant that most churches were ultimately attended by the elderly and it was clearly linked to the "drying up of her waters" in reference to the fall of babylon and babylon the great..

  how ironic, that this very situation has now befallen the society and our local kingdom halls..

  Being an Agnostic/Atheist (Not sure yet), I attend Catholic church with my better half pretty much every week. Have for the last 15 years or so. I get nothing, zero, zip, zilch out of it. I go simply to keep the single old ladies away from him.

  I believe the Catholics will last a lot longer than the JWs. The JWs are a cult. Is the Catholic church? Perhaps. However, they do their thing on Sunday and move on to the next week. They do beg for money, however, it's voluntary. Pass the basket and no one cares if you throw a quarter or a bundle. If you put in an envelope no one knows how much you gave.

  Honestly, they sing, read the scriptures take the collection, Deacon or Priest does the talk, then do the bread and wine and you're out in approximately an hour. That is for a 1000 size Sunday morning or 200 Saturday afternoon.

  I take a nap or meditate with my eyes open. No pressure to go out and recruit new members.

  I will say that at one of the local parishes we went to the Priest was from Zimbabwe and didn't like JWs. He made a point to bash them at any opportunity. Very odd. That turned me off. I could see no value to what he was saying and bashing JWs. He had a nervous breakdown recently.

  Great write up and very nicely done by the journalist. He covered the JW shunning really well. You covered the issues very well. I hope you and your brother are getting on and are able to have a long-term relationship.

  The shunning is just unbelievable. People I know simply don't believe that the JWs are so cruel; they come off so sincere when at the door. I've given up trying to explain why my family is the way they are. I hope this gets more coverage. Kudos.
