  any thoughts on that particular phrasing?

  personally, i think the wts uses it as another form of mind control.

  by calling the individual "one of jehovah's witnesses," it lends a generic feel to the wording.

  In holland people simply call Jehovah Witnesses... Jehovah's

  So when they find out you're a JW they say: "oh... your a Jehovah?

  Or in the newspaper you could read a line like " Jehova's building a church in two days"

  Ofcourse JW's realy hate it being called a " Jehovah"

  well- you knew this was coming next after the article of how to be jesus friend.

  so the wt society was setting it's members up to seek friends only in the ranks of jehovah's witnesses.

  basically in this article " maintaining friendships in a loveless world " - even from the title you get the impression the wt is showing that the world is loveless- but the jehovah's witnesses are not.

  the watchtower has sent a legal notice to the owners of the eds blog for posting copyrighted material without permission.

  But they have re-written it so that's easy to claim copyright!

  If you rewrite something how can you claim copywrite, it's like translating a book in an other language, the original writer is still the one who has the copywrite.

  And when WTS says it's their own work than it's plagiarism...from gods work!

  Another thing. They never tell who writes a peace for the watchtower or wrote a book or who created a song or who translated a biblebook, because they say, " it's not important who did it, the writers are inspired by god/ Jehovah." So god is claiming copiewrite on his inspired work? He doesn't want it to be spread all over the world?

  I'sn't spreading gods word all over the world the number one business of the WTS? Isn't the internet the best way to reach people all over the world? Even in places you can't come going from door to door, like in the middle of a jungle or at the north pole?

  So why don't they want anything on the internet?

  I think it's because:

  a) It makes no money

  b) they are afraid of lawsuites, because their preaching stuff that is forbidden in some countries like beating your child, and disciminating Homosexuals.

  c) If an interested person or JW will google on literature the might also bumb into websites of apostates.

  In the netherlands we've got a social healthcaresystem, ans I can tell you it works!

  All the republican talk about the costs and bad treatment and stuff is total BS!

  This is how it works and this is the system Obama also wants to have in the USA.

  I pay euro 110,- per month insurance. Poor people, who have a earn less than euro 25000,- a yaer get most of the costs back.

  You get almost everything payed for. even hospitals and operations and medicine etc. You don't have to pay in advance, the doctor or hospital sends the bill to the insurance company.

  If I go to the psychiatrist It only cost me euro 10,- per time the insurance pays the rest. dentist is payed for the most costs also.

  Poor people, who have a earn less than euro 25000,- a yaer get most of the costs back for their monthly.

  Believe me don't listen to the crap the republicans tell...It's the best thing! and doesn't anyone have the right on healthtreatment?

  The best thing in this situation is if the medical asistant would go to the sister involved tell her what she knows and let her diside to go to the elders or not.

  Because if you are a JW. You will also believe that eventualy the truth will come out and if not she has to face god for her accountability. And god is still more important than the WTS...

  Personaly I think that there are a lot of good reasons to commit a abortion and I bet that if the WTS Wouldn't d'fellow people that there would be less abortions commited in the organisation.

  What do non witnesses actually think about the evil practice of disfellowshipping?

  whenever i have mentioned this practise to people who don't know much about the witnesses (although they should know about them due to the worldwide preaching activity .

  to most right thinking people it is absolutely just not an option to have no contact with your immediate family.. one lady said to me "i'd rather rip my heart out".. what has been your experience when people find out that jw's carry out this evil practise?.

  When I was was df'd my JW sister still talked with me and came to my house even go out in public with me. Untill she got married. Her husband forbid her to talk with me... so from one day to another I suddenly didn't hear anything from my sister without an explanation.

  Than two years later she moved to a house a couple of streets from my house( my mother told me). Because of the fact that I knew I was gonna bumb in to her on the street for sure, I called her up and asked her to have a talk with me because it would be akward if we would bumb in to eachother with out at least some explanation from her.

  At first she said okay, but than an hour later she called me back and told me she had to ask her husband first. Ofcourse he told her no. She didn't call me to say she couldn't....I had to call her and ask... Than I told her that because she could not even bring up the respect to have one conversation with me face to face, her own brother... that I found this so humiliating and disrespectfull, that I was gonna treat her the same way she teated me and shun her. Untill she found the respect to have a conversation with me......

  That's still the situation up to today.... But it does help me dealing with it....

  Another thing I do and this you must realy try...it can be fun.... do the one thing they don't expect!! When I see a JW on the street in the cinema or anywhere First I realy enthousiastic from a distance shout "hello"to them waving and than I walk to them and start a conversation. The reactions are fantastic, I scarred the hell out of some of them..they almost crap their pants. Some of them I said hello to, now try to hide when the see me... Believe me It's good therapy...this way you feel yourself superior evolved above those brainwashed JW's

  Why can a JW get a boob job but not a tatoo???

  you'd get yourself in a jc for a tatoo but i've seen a couple of jws get a boob job and nothing happen... the hypocrisy in endless... .

  I think so.. I think It's one of those things that is in the grey area... just like going on camptrip with school or having a drink after work with your collegues and visiting a dicotheque

  That's strange.

  I'm from holland and disf'd in 1999.

  But back then you didn't get disf'd when you took a tatoo. In fact I know a lot of brothers who have tatoos in holland and siters with navelpeircings

  My own sister got both and she is still a JW
