I have been a designated attendant herder at many JW functions, including the memorial. You try to make sure that all the seats are filled, kind of like playing Tetris. And then some feel obliged to set people near thier family and/or friends.

Do They Tell You Where to Sit, Too?
by cameo-d ini was just reading a thread where someone was "seated" next to the same people year after year at memorial.. is this "seating" only done at memorial?.
are you allowed to have a preference to seat yourself?.
is there an unspoken mandatory seating arrangement?.

The Official What happened at the Memorial thread
by truthseeker ini thought rather than everyone start their own topic relating their experience of attending the memorial, we keep it simple and have just one thread.
if anything, it's saves bandwidth.. i will be going to the memorial tonight and will post my experiences afterwards.. all the other memorials i attended, i was an active jw, so this will be my first experience as a submarine witness.
it's weird being on the other side so to speak.

Didn't go for the first time in my life. Went out and had a few beers with my friends. Much less stressful.

I feel sorry for all you poor bastards who have to go to the Memorial
by sinis in...because god knows i'm never, ever, going to set foot in there again!!
my wife asked me if i was going to the memorial tonight with her?
i said that i would rather fondle satans balls, stroke his shaft, and swallow the gravy before i go.... i'll be sitting at home tonight eating pizza and beer playing ps3 while you are all dressed up in uncomfortable clothes, listening to bullshit propaganda, and being love bombed....

It is the closest uneducated JWs can figure to Nisan 14, so no, not always on Thursday. Emblems have to be passed after sunset, service may start before. It can be a real cluster f*ck where alot of congregations share a hall.

I don't see any difference between eating a cow and eating a horse, it is common in many countries. I have ate horse and it wasn't bad at all. And when a horse cannot be cared for, why not use it for meat? Of coarse the animal should be killed in a humane manner, not like the slaughter houses of the past.

Memorial tommorow = Can I bring Pizza and beer as my own "Emblems?"
by Witness 007 inyea verily i will pass the pizza's around and say "take eat, this means my favourite food, find thee comfort in this.
".......afterwards the beers were passed around and i say "take drink for this means getting drunk.
"......and the brothers saw that it was good and pleasing in their eyes...so they got up to dance and have a good time, and said they "verily this was the best memorial ever.".

It should be noted that the U.S. Geological Survey DOES NOT SUPPORT and IS NOT AFFILIATED with the Horizon Project. The USGS has issued a public statement to the effect that earthquakes are not increasing in number or magnitude in direct response to the Horizon Project. The USGS is a federal agency and anyone has access to thier data. They can interpret the data as they wish, even if it is wrong, as is the case with the Horizon Project.
