i don't hate religion, personally.
it may sound like i hate it on this forum, but nothing could be farther from the truth.
I think it is not unfair to say that religion is the greatest evil we face as mankind. Some religions are outright violent some religions condone and support violence. Many religions are intollerant. Very few religions really are peaceful and tollerant. And these religions at best lead thier followers on a dead end path, with unrealistic expectations of the afterlife.
That said, I don't hate religious people, many are mislead.

I have stopped at a bar for a drink in service. Nothing like a cold beer on a hot day. Was I not supposed to do that?

They sell the DFing policy as a loving arrangement, they don't get into the details. They don't tell you that they tear families apart. They have quite an extensive misinformation campaign regarding the medical use of blood.

Unfortunately it was also standard arround the area I was in for the chairman to give the talk if the speaker didn't show. I had to give so many damn talks because the speaker didn't show. The talk coordinator was a real f*ck up, messed up the schedule all the time.
over the years, in the congregations i have been in, there have been 4 different people with "perfume or cologne allergies.
anyway, they would always sit in the library, and at the bookstudy some years ago one sister would sit outside and comment through the window!
another sister would sometimes wear a white "surgical" mask in the hall.. the congregation i am attending now has a sister like that.
I knew of several JWs who claimed this, all women, at 3 different KH's. I know that there are real allergies of this type, but I can't help but feel most of these are not real. Many JWs seem to be hypochondriacs. They need some kind of illness/disability/"thorn in the flesh" to make them unique and make thier "service to Jehovah" more of a challenge.
does anyone wish they could make amends for mistakes made as a jw?
i tried very hard to follow the teachings very closely, right down to shunning some of my relatives who were df'd.
i also think i was very judgemental and hard on others..
So many things...Shunned friends who were DFed. I stayed in the JWs along time just so I could maintain contact with family and people I thought were friends. I should have left sooner, I feel like I decieved some individuals. However, I think I decieved myself most of all. I regret teaching (ministry and talks) things that I did not myself believe. I regret being a jerk to "worldly" people who were trying to be my friends.
i mean how would an atheist jw go to fs to tell worldlies about jehovah while he does'nt really believe in god?.
will the holy spirit "guide" such an individual?.
will the angels "accompany" such.....?.
An athiest can be a JW, and it is hell. I was an athiest-JW for about 7 years before I left, and a Ministerial Servant to boot. I was giving regular public talks and parts on conventions. I was regular in service and auxillary pioneered often. It was terrible. At times it would make me physically ill. I was doing it for falmily, but came to the realization that I couldn't keep doing it.
I would say, though, that I had just as much holy spirit as the others did - none.
Ok, maybe a .50 cal wouldn't do. But we have plenty of weapons, give them all they need.
We have air marshalls to make sure our planes aren't hijacked, why not have sea marshalls? The merchant marines could take on this role, or the navy. 2 trained individuals per ship would do, a .50 cal fore and aft. Forget M16s, a 5.56 cal wouldn't do anything to a ship. If a ship approaches without communications, sink it. If they are USMM or USN, the ports shouldn't have a problem with them, and if they do, don't do business with them.
I agree. F*ck the TSA. In the last 8 years I have had probably over $1000 worth of things stolen out of my checked luggage, none of them against the rules. I have had knives stolen out of checked bags, which is allowed. I have had caribiners stolen out checked luggage, they are even allowed in carry on. I have had other climbing gear stolen out of my checked bags, gear that was very hard to replace at my destination. I have had rocks taken out of my checked bags, even after paying the fee for overwieght bags.
Every time I have tried to recover my property, I am informed it has been destroyed. I don't believe that for a minute. If I can, I fedex anything I can't carry on, but that is not always an option.
