If having sex constitues marriage... hmmmm I have quite a few wives. How do I divorce them all? In that case I kinda got married last night in the on call room at the hospital. (dangerous and stupid I know, but oh so worth it)

I was thinking that the term "Premarital Sex" is actually making an assumption
by gubberningbody in...namely that the person is ever going to get married.. .
back to what you were doing..... .

why I like this site
by nancy drew ini like this site (aside from the fact that we have the jw experience in common) because i have come to realize that all of you are very creative, interesting & courageous.
it takes a special person to exit the jw's.
we all of course are also very different & thats good because we can learn from each other.

Agreed. This is a great forum and most of the people here are spot on. I just wish I had more time to enjoy this site.

Were you Stalked or Chased After Once you Exited the JW's by Elders ?
by flipper ini tried to fade off the map by moving 30 miles initially in 2004 after i exited in late 2003 .
the first several years they didn't bother me.
i ran into a elder from my former congregation in late 2005 in an antique store - he tried telling me i was wrong for stopping attending meetings.

I d/a'd when I left because I didn't want to see the elders. I also moved 45 minutes away and did not tell anyone where I was going. I knew my friends would cut me off and the elders were only going to try to guilt me into "coming back to the truth."
But I can say, from watching the elders for years I was honestly scared they would stalk me, I had seen it happen many times before. That and I was often picked to go out in service with two elders and while I sat in the back they discussed "congregational matters" and I learned so much about their tactics. Stalking is the right word for what they do.

I feel so alone within Jw's
by XPeterX inwhy won't any jw call me?i always call them and they avoid me or meet me only for study and meetings.they won't even start a conversation with me on msn!i feel somewhat uncomfortable within jw 'friends'.i have prayed a lot about this all of my adolescent years and still no response.did this happen to you too?.

I concur with what Flipper said.
The sad truth is Peter, friendship is conditional inside the JW organization, my guess is that you are not meeting their conditions. I would rather have real friends that don't hold conditions on our friendship.
Best of luck to you.

Do you believe the Bible?
by Cagefighter ini don't want to high jack african gb's thread but something got me thinking.... moses, abraham were inbred and hearing god's voice... paul never met jesus yet he is the only apostle coming down like a hammer of gays and has this "close bond" with timothy.
then there is the issue of "horus" the egyptian god and is this where the story of jesus comes from.
i have searched the internet for information on horus and have not had much luck finding anything authorative either way.. my question is do you or don't you believe in the bible and why or why not?

I don't believe in the Bible either. I struggled with the idea of God for many years after leaving the WT. It was a full two years after I left the bOrg before I ever considered that the only reason I didn't look into evolution or the idea that God might not exist was because I had been programmed to think these ideas were not worthy of entertaining.
It took another two years of a lot of research and personal thought to feel comfortable calling myself an atheist. I didn't choose to be an atheist I simply found myself there after a lot of research into the bible and various other religions.

unsure about coldplay
by Weeping ini heard a song that i thought was pretty.
however, for the first time im analizing their music;do they belive in satanism?they always talk about the enemy god not in words, hiding words to be exact..or im just imagining things.
anyways, i've deleted their music.

Just to play it safe I am going to label all music as satanic and just never listen to music again. I'll stop reading books too because I might read one that changes my current opinions, and you never know if the author prays to lucifer. TV is exceptionally demonic these days as well, you know things going from bad to worse and all that. So I'll just stop watching TV. Now I feel safe and secure, Satan isn't going to get me!

Thanks Jamie! And great idea CBB :D
I understand everyone else's point of view. But it simply isn't within me to not try to reach out to this person. Like I said, perhaps he/she is just a douchbag and not worth the time. But I have to try...

How many people, many of them here, spent a decade or more after leaving still believing it was "the truth." I don't do my youtube video's because I get off on hearing my own voice. I don't know this guys whole story, maybe he is a douch, or maybe he is still suffering from his experience and has never been able to move on. Never been able to accept that it's all a lie.
Perhaps he/she isn't worth the trouble, but on the off chance that he/she is I would like to give it a shot.
