  I have a question on the Circuit Accounts Scam thread

  i didn't want it to get buried and i'd really like to know.. so i knew pretty much what he was saying was true, but what i don't get is how the creative accounting works.. i mean you have to show expenses on the ledger - and i mean real expenses, like the co/do expenses along with receipts.. you have actual costs for the power coming into the building.

  the paper supplies and cleaning supplies.

  the vacuum cleaners and mops and other sundry items, and you have to have receipts for all that.. i also know that when you made a "donation" it was off the books at the circuit level as far as accounts were concerned.. but how is money not being accounted for?.

  I know you're mad at them and so am I, but the money is accounted for as far as I know.

  I was hoping someone had some real shit on them. If this is all that there is, then it's nothing that anyone who wasn't already convinced about them would even care about.

  What I need to know is if money isn't accounted for.

  If deficits are discussed in advance and deposits get made (and as far as I know they are) to the Circuit accounts, then the next assembly would show a positive balance after all expenses are made and if this continued without abate, that amount would become gargantuous.

  As it was, it looked to me more like "projected deficits" based on "projected expenses" and when it all evened out everything got accounted for.

  I kept accounts, but not at the Circuit level and I know at our local congregation the audit was done by different brothers (I did them too at times) and all monies were accounted for in print.

  Just because this doesn't get reported to the IRS doesn't mean it's not accounted for. It just means it's not taxed in the same manner as a normal for-profit. Because the WTBS is "for-prophet", they don't account to the IRS.

  Am I missing anything?

  I "fell victim" to recognizing 1st of all how evil their version of Jehovah was being painted by the GB.

  I thought about the example of Abraham, described by James as "Jehovahs' friend" (Jas. 2:23) who challenged what he imagined Jehovah was going to do in the case of Sodom and Gomorrah with the words "...it is unthinkable of you. Is the judge of all the earth not going to do what is right?" (ge. 18:25). and felt I should do the same.

  In the case of the biblical example of Abraham, the one who was a primary example of one whose faith we ought to imitate, (Heb. 13:7) it seemed appropriate to question the depiction of Jehovah these "nobles...to whom no salvation belongs" (Ps. 146:3) were presenting and "not ...put my trust" (Ps. 146:3) in them and their "[shameful] vision" (Zec. 13:4), but to instead say through my actions "You will not live, because falsehood is what you have spoken in the name of Jehovah" (Zec. 13:3).

  "The Bible" is not a unit. It's 66 books debated into place. Too, though there were more which were accepted in the 1st century Jesus NEVER "according to the records" ever worried himself about issues of canonicity, or even whether or not anyone had incorrect ideas, though he could have supposedly easily straightened it all out.

  The question is improperly phrased.

  If, on the other hand you were to clarify the meaning of "right" with some specificity, and selected a portion of text which made some claim about reality, then we could adress THAT point.

  As it is, with your question so constructed, the answer would have to be "falsum in uno, falsum in omnibus", so all one would have to do is find one small thing, demonstrate its falsity and then the whole Bible becomes "wrong".

  on facebook tonight there was a post asking to take a personality test, in posting the personality tests a trend started emerging that certain personality types seem to leave around the same time.. i came out as an intj which is introverted intuitive thinking judging.

  I ran out of creative ways of honestly dealing with WT discrepancies and inconsistencies, this coupled with the desire on the part of the elders to "get at my 'rebellious wife'" meant that had I stayed, I'd have ended up in jail after beating these elders into unconsciousness.

  I "saw the calamity" and "took my leave". (I was an elder when we left never to return)
