My take on it is that humans have always been selfish. We are just now in a society where we are able to see just how selfish every other person really is.

Toleration and acceptance has it's drawbacks. One person's aggression towards another is another's justified defense. No real way to address the issue. All we can do is balance it out.

I agree. Many are willing to wink at Clinton's behavior if they think he's doing a good job. A good lynching of our former prez might be a good thing.

I would agree with you if I expected the president to lead my children. I feel he had political responsibilities to the nation, not moral responsibilities.

I cannot condemn the man for what he has done. Many people have jobs now that didn't before he came along. I don't think his immoral love-life was any of our business in the first place.

If you feel uncomfortable about that, then I believe you have a serious problem.

You are taught, as many other JWs are taught that to be in God's favor, you have to be part of a man-made organization. Whether they are directly taught this or it is an inferred assumption is irrelevant. It is STILL locked in their mind.

So, when a JW finds that a fallible organization presents itself as the sole representative of God, then he/she may even come to the conclusion that God himself is a farce.

Yet there are other people who have not come to that conclusion, and direct their malice toward the accusers (i.e. you). Unfortunately, your mental parallel of WTS as God's only channel to mankind assumes (erroneously, IMO) that they have denounced God, instead of just your man-made organization.

There is a difference you know.

Many of those who are "scoffing armageddon" as you say are scoffing it because they were given all the answers in a nice package that later fell apart. Now they are confused about EVERYTHING they were told (What is true and what is false?). Another devistating aspect of leaving high-control groups such as yours. The folks who followed the Worldwide Church of God know exactly what these ex's are talking about. They went through the same experiences.

Do a search on the web for "Worldwide Church of God" and go to one of the sites that are against them. When you read the testimonials and say to yourself: "Boy, they were never God's mouthpiece in the first place, how silly!" You will then understand why some folks are bitter and confused, just as the members of that church were before the "shakedown" that dropped their baptized membership from 1 million+ down to 50,000.

You say that you are not the judge. This is true. Unfortunately, your "reminder" is very judgemental, especially under the auspices of something being wrong with people on this board for not "heeding" the warning you putforth.

And I could say that you are missing Larc's entire point, but perhaps you just don't understand it. (Remember, he WAS a JW before).

Do yourself a favor and stop assuming that everyone who does not share your point a view is a follower of satan. That mentality, and the behavior that it produces is insulting in itself to those who know better. It is also judgemental on your part. Being judgemental is not a problem, but when you turn around and say that you are not the judge, it is a bit hippocritical.

Such mechanisms are unnecessary on this forum as this is a DISCUSSION forum, not a bunch of "worldlings" who you are trying to convert.

Having said this I also understand that this may be hard for you to do since you are trained to gain members through casual conversation.

If you forgive our shortcomings, we will forgive yours.

doesn't it strike you funny to see that satan who makes the rules for his system can't keep them and tries to manipulate rules and regulations always in his favor and that of his seed.. .

We also have to keep in mind that Jehovah is the final and just Judge in all matters. His wisdom is far superior than man and we have to wait on Him to clarify doubts that we have in it's own time.

Interesting ideal. Please remember this next time someone gives you this reason for NOT getting involved with your religion. Not everyone has to belong to your organization. There are some who DEFINATELY don't know many answers, but there heart is one with God, not matter who or what they think he is. Most of these very same people are told to stay away from YOU by 'appostates' because the 'appostates' know that once you are in the 'org', you are under a bunch of man-made rules and controlled by fear of destruction in most cases. Sure not every JW cong is the same, but neither is every protestant church you all seem to view with discust (sp?) and group under "Babylon the Great".

What do you say to someone who loves "God" and their "neighbor", views NOBODY with malice except those who profess to hate "God", doesn't smoke, drink, fornicate, etc. etc. Are these people LOST because they aren't JWs? Is my Grandmother (Rest in Peace) going to be destroyed because she read the Bible almost daily, and never understood most of what was said, but read it because she thought it was the right thing to do? If you or any other JW tried to tell her your 'truth', she would use the same Biblical scriptures YOU use as reasoning to slam the door in your face! She would have been justified by her own means, just as you are justified by your own means. She was taught "God loves good people" from her pastor, while you are taught "We are God's people" by your org.

(I was going to say something "cute and catchy" here, but I am not so clever today.)

Can you please clear up your statement, " Please remember this the next time you are told not to talk to another person for circumstances you have not heard from the horses mouth."

I was referring to the practice of "shunning" or whatever you want to call it. (You know, not talking to a DF'd or DA'd one without the risk of suffering the SAME punishment. Oftentimes without even knowing the FULL CIRCUMSTANCES of the events that transpired behind closed doors.)

I would like to ask you ianao if you ever were a JW or associated with a cong...

Not a JW, but had many many discussions with a "friend" of mine who is a JW. Spec, I am someone who had no exposure to the Bible, was exposed to it by what you would consider "Babylon the Great", found inconsistancies (myself!) Then started talking to a JW who could show me what the 'truth' was, as well as opposers. Well, after coming pretty close to Baptism (as the opposers were looking pretty stupid), I suddenly started finding inconsistencies with the organization known as the WTS. Also, after talking to several of what you would consider to be 'appostate', I confirmed my suspicions. After looking into other groups that most considered to be "high-control" in nature, many parallels come into play that are quite obvious when you look at it from the outside, but are oblivious to the insider. After talking with the "JW friend", and with any discussion involving these and other matters amounting to reading quotes from encyclopedia's who were themselves quoting WTS sources about the WTS, I soon realized a large problem with logic and sound reasoning in my "friend".

NOTE: Your definition of 'truth' and mine are two different things. I do not substanciate 'truth' as 'present truth'. To me, true/false and biblical interpretation are two different things. I also don't consider ones who actually start reading a book for what it means instead of reading it for what they THINK it means as divine selection by God.

You JWs go around spouting "no trinity", "no immortal soul" and "no hell-fire", then you turn right around and tell me a bunch of junk about 1914 and WWI and 607CE that has nothing to do with real chronology, and everything to do with copying other religions.

would like to know what brings you to this discussion board?

I guess the fact that I knew 'truth', then found it, then lost it, then found real truth, then lost it to REAL TRUTH, then LOST THAT again is what brings me here. It really helps me to deal with everything that I have gone through. Most JWs feel that to be in God's favor, you have to be in a man made organization. You have every right to feel that way, some of us know better. I personally am in this discussion forum because I am fascinated with the subject, and I've finally found folks with REAL Bible knowledge that are open to genuine discussion that isn't going to try and suck me into a no-win situation under man-made rules. If I wanted that, I would join the US Military.

Thank you for your kindness. I do not say what I say as answers, I am only stating my opinion. Also, thank you for the flattering remark, but I'm just a loudmouth windbag with alot to say about something that's put a very big chip on my shoulder. It could apply to any governing body of this system of things if it's not in keeping with what the scriptures say about loving your fellow man

Another good point spectromize. Please remember this the next time you are told not to talk to another person for circumstances you have not heard from the horses mouth.

(This does cause quite a bit of mental anguish, it is a malicious act to this person's well being, no matter the rationale you put behind it).

Remember, "Christiandom" used the Bible as an excuse to destroy others. Thankfully, your transgressions are rather minor in comparison, although a focused "mental war" on an individual can be almost as devistating spiritually as a REAL war is mortally. Sure, you can rationalize it as "punishment for an unrepentant sinner", but isn't that why "Christandom" was fighting those who opposed their viewpoint?

Also, remember that you governing body is in this "system of things". Please also remember that you are using literary skills taught to you in this "system of things" to be able to converse with me.

No matter how much you DON'T want to be a part of this "system of things", YOU ARE.

You could, but it wouldn't be anything that I haven't heard before. Also, you can only curl up in a corner if you are afraid of the subject.

You have to realize that if your not ready for truth at a particular time it could destroy you mentally and physically.
