good and evil.
two basic polarities.
would someone care to please define them, and the difference between them?.

i am deceiding on becoming a jehovah's witness, but i need for information on the whole religion.
i need to talk to someone and ask questions.
what do i do?
Hello tiawani18:
Not being a witness, I can only help from past dealings with other JWs.
All of the advice you are hearing is darn good!
Just remember that you are not dealing with people who are out to "get you", you are dealing (for the most part) with honest, loving people who have ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE about what their religion really is. They only listen to what they are told, and they only know about what they are told.
Don't think that they are mean and ugly monsters, because they are not. They truly believe they are trying to save you from God's wrath.
Unfortunately, they WILL try to convince you that other people (such as the ones on this board) are evil and under the influence of satan and out to destroy you. Don't let yourself get caught in that line of thinking, because if you do then you will be hiding from your own shadow, possibly for the rest of your life.
Do some research on the web about JWs and mental illness, and you will see what I am talking about.

do paul's words at 1 corinthians 6:1-7 mean that under no circumstances should a christian take to court a case involving a fellow believer?
-u.s.a. here paul was showing the corinthian christians the inconsistency of taking disputes between christians before secular tribunals.
I think this whole thread has turned into a big clash of words.
It's just too bad that most lurkers won't bother to read very much of it.
(Then again, maybe the whole idea behind the originator's opposers was to do this in the first place, and the originator just fell for the bait.) (Sorry Focus)
Hats off to you Bandit and Fool! You would make great lawyers.

last weekend we had dinner with my wife's family.
they had just "enjoyed" their circuit assembly.. their circuit met in two halves over two weeks (avoids the mad scramble to the dining room that way).
total baptized for the entire circuit (a city circuit)?
So is that your problem Fred? Water on the brain?
i think its about time logical died.
i might kill him now i really hate him, he is such an evil freak.. how about it?
you all can party afterwards.
A permanent soloution to a temporary problem logical.
Better days are on the way. Just a matter of how you look at it.
we love you.
would it be ethical for me to give a close relative a good hearty shove to distance them from jw`s?.
a close relative of mine, lets call her auntie lou, has been a devout witness for over 50 years.
now when i say devout, i mean a blind, unquestioning obedience to the wtbts.
Would it be better, in this instance, to leave well alone, and desist from precipitating Auntie Lou`s exit from dub-dom?
Yes, I believe it would be better, IMO.
some information i just received solidly nails the watchtower society's coffin shut in the intellectual honesty department.. since the society published the brochure should you believe in the trinity?
in english in 1989, a number of people have complained that many of the citations were misrepresentations of the intent of the authors, or simply did not show what the society's writer claimed.
this is in keeping with many other wts publications, such as the infamous 1985 creation book, which i have demonstrated contains at least a hundred misrepresentations, misinterpretations and assorted scholastic inaccuracies.. the society, as usual, gives incomplete citations for its source references in the trinity brochure.

On the site, when you wrote your "final letter to bethel", you said at the end of it: "I look forward to your comments."
What happened? Did they DF/DA you, or what? It looks like you were looking for further correspondence.
which do you consider to be more important, personal integrity or organisational unity?.
9 however, uri'ah lay down at the entrance of the kings house with all the other servants of his lord, and he did not go down to his own house.
nevertheless, he went out in the evening to lie down on his bed with the servants of his lord, and to his own house he did not go down.
We MUST follow our conscience, even if we do believe in the mandate the Society claims for itself.
It's easy to "choose God over man" theoretically, but how can you be SURE that you are not choosing MAN again when your own conscience is flawed by human perception?
