In my profession, I can't allow myself to get personally attached or emotionally involved (which is tough to do when people are very sad/angry/stressed)...I guess I'm just gonna have to apply that here as well. Sometimes I care & go a little overboard. I guess the fact that I can relate to so many of your stories drudge up old feelings a lot. But part of healing is moving on as well.

Does this site only make you angrier?

it's been almost every single day that i read a thread that seriously gets under my skin or makes me sick about them.
he's right, there's a lot on here that will only fuel my fire and help me to go into an angry spiral instead of bettering my life and forgetting about all the stuff i hate about the witnesses.

Amen to that, White Dove. Baba, I know you're right. I like this board too, and especially the ones who give whacky comments that give me an unexpected laugh
I see what my hubby is saying...he's not against me being on here. He was just sayin' that I'm getting a bit too wrapped up in the negative aspect.

The only problem is that I'm directly linked to immediate family members who are still very much "in"....so its a toughy.
I'm gonna try not to get so involved in the negative stuff for awhile and focus on the good stuff, like people on here having cookouts and fishfrys and bonfires

by homeschool indoes anyone know if there is such a thing as a christian church that loves and appreciates jesus, but also recognizes that it is purely a culteral thing and also acknowledges other religions as truth?
are unitarians like this?

Wow, some really good suggestions. Thank you. I will check out those websites. The Baptist Church we went to started off with how gays are going to hell. I don't believe all churches are cults, but it is very important to stay on watch with that sort of thing.
Didn't you find that out when you joined one that advertised "truth" exclusively?
What makes you think one that advertises open-mindedness will be any different? Cameo, I do not know the answer to that question. All I can do is look and then form an opinion. I'm not gonna be suckered again.
