Yes, jwfacts....in reality, it is hard. When it happened last night, i was just shocked at her quick negative freak out reaction! (plus I'm always a happy drunk so I didnt wanna pick a fight) ..... but i asked her to let me set one up for her and to give it a chance for two weeks. if she wanted to after that, she could quit. But she just wasnt hearing it. my hubby said he remembers at the conventions a couple years ago that they slammed My Space from the stage, but that people still joined...even pioneers and ms's. When I was still a jw, i'd probably have followed the Kingdumbhall rules like my sis....

Does you get reely annoiyed at posta's who start thred's wif typo's in the titel?
by yadda yadda 2 indo you find it annoying and insulting when someone starts a thread with typos in the title?
i snort in contempt when i see a new thread started and the poster hasn't even bothered getting the spelling correct in the title, or starts the thread off with a post full of typos and crap grammar.
i've found that the more stupid mistakes there are in the title of a thread and in the poster's initial post, the less interesting and worthy of reading is the thread.

man....my older sis came over to help me out with an apron I'm trying to sew. I told her I was gonna set her up a facebook account and she freaked out on me! almost like an anxiety attack. she said she's busy enough as it is and, while she loves the jw's on there that I was telling her about, she would rather wait to converse with them in the new system. By this point, I'd had three beers , so I just kept sayin' to myself "homeschool, dont EeeeeeVen go there." lol.... i was being totally nice about it and explained that i'm "friends" with childhood friends of ours from 20 years ago! Like, two of them are regular pioneers and I was explaining it to her....and then I said 'there's even groups you can join so you can meet jw's from all over the world"....I swear, before I was even done with that sentence, she said "OH nO, I dont trust THOSE"....lol. But, I wasnt even joking or trying to fool her. there REALLY ARE true jw groups on there where people talk about all the encouraging points at the meetings and conventions and how the memorial was wonderful and uplifting ..... my whole point was to try to get her to re-kindle friendships with people who are still jw's who she hasnt seen in 20 years. Ok, so i totally had ulterior motives & it backfired.... lol....just thought I'd share my evening with you

did "true christians" make mistakes in the bible?
by homeschool inan elder met with my husband a few nights ago.
i was working but my hubby recorded the whole thing.
one thing that is totally stuck in my brain is talk about the "new light" and how things get brighter and can be clarified easier.

Its been so long since i've been to a meeting....forgive the slow-ness of my brain. So, individual christians in the bible made mistakes....did the "true" earthly organization ALSO make mistakes as a whole? Like, did the organization make rules and then get reprimanded by god or jesus?

Do you want your publisher cards? Do you need a congregation "secretary" to request them? I can do it
by BonaFide ini think someone else mentioned this before, but i am interested in providing some practical help to those on this board.
many of you have helped me, and i see a lot of good will on here.. some here seem to need to move to another congregation to "fade.
" or they might be in a judicial situation.. can i help?

Can't speak with me, unless they need something
by Stan Conroy inafter many, many years outside of the jw world, my elderly parents finally decided to give me an ultimatum.
i either rejoin the jw's or they will never speak with me again.
apparently my brother is going to get the same choice.

you know, this is a sensitive subject for me. My younger sister is the joy of my life and I've always felt protective over her. However, she is very much a jw and limits her contact with me. It really grates my nerves when she goes to a convention and cant find anyone to watch her dog....so guess who gets the call to dogsit? she recently held a jewelry party with her jw aunt and invited all the 'worldly' ladies from her job....which kinda ircked me because these really nice ladies have NEVER been invited into her home. But now that money was involved, they were welcomed with open arms. just seems like a double standard is all. And YES, I know i have the choice/responsibility to say "no" if that's what I wanna do...
