My profile says I've only been on here for 3 months, although I joined a year ago. while I may post quite a bit, its not because I do not have a life. I'm just trying to heal. OH. And I'm trying to keep up with those who've been on here for 8 years who've posted NINETY-EIGHT pages worth of comments. I like to post a lot. and I've got a life. So sue me. I know this thread is for the folks who've been here a lot longer, and I appreciate you being here.

Why's everybody getting divorced????!

literally four couples that i know closely & personally have told me in the last two weeks that they are divorcing their spouses.
and there are a couple on here whom i've discovered are separating as well (these two i do not know personally, but i'm a little surprised & saddened regardless).

I can't take this pain anymore...my life at dead end
by JustHuman14 inmy life has reached to a dead end...i'm stuck and there is no way out.
i was inactive for 6 years and i'm disfellowshiped for the past 3. i would never think that my life would have been in this terrible mess.. .
i wasn't planned to be disfellowshiped by my "wife" turned me in to the elders for apostasy 2 times!!!

Has anyone Read the Five Love Languages of Love? It sounds a little Foo Foo, but its a really good book. FlyingHighNow, when you say they're not careful when choosing a mate, what do you mean by that? Is it important to find someone with your same interests? It seems like I know a lot of couples who are opposites but seem to be happy. ?

This is insanity! Literally four couples that I know closely & personally have told me in the last two weeks that they are divorcing their spouses. How do you know when it's time to throw in the towel? What makes a couple know they need to keep fighting for love? What makes a couple realize there's no more future for them?

Booby, I just read that one and thought it was great too. However, this July Awake 09' says NOTHING about about jw's, whereas the article you showed kinda shows why they believe the way they believe. Not hatin', just sayin'

I asked my mom yesterday where all their Watchtowers and Awakes were, to which she looked at me a little surprised (NOT a question I normally ask). I said, oh no big deal....I was just gonna start reading them if that was cool. So she found me the July 09 Awake. BINGO. Its the one about Depression. No joke-I was feeling totally fine before I just opened up this magazine...but now I'm seriously feeling saddened and sick to my stomach . I think the next time I stop over there, I'll just say something about the various articles (yes, I read the whole thing, even about Rickshaws and the Lazy lives of Sloths) and then casually mention something like, "the one article about 'is it wrong to change your religion' was interesting. Imagine reading that from the opposite point of view.....someone who chooses not to be a jw. Yes, yes, I know, you all have the troof. But thats not what it says here. it says NO ONE SHOULD BE FORCED TO WORSHIP IN A WAY THAT HE FINDS UNACCEPTABLE OR BE MADE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN HIS BELIEFS AND HIS FAMILY. " I've got to make sure I do it so as to not sound like a beeOtch.....I'm just so darn passionate about this! Grrrrrrr.....I'm gonna go jogging now & blow off some steam

so i have really decided to lay off religion with my hardcore jw wife...
by oompa indamm it is awful.....and it is awful what i have put her through the past two years......so many tears, screams, walkouts, and even two brutal slaps on the chops...(all by her to me btw....although i have shed plenty of tears too).....just awful.......i so wish i could have just shut tf up.....but that is me.....vocal.....real.......open......we have been apart for awhile.......and i think that helped us both......i think she will now respect my non-jw life.....even though she will not be around my non jw friends ...give and take....and i will let her tread water in her cult.
otwo helped me so much...and others too with the one in one out thingy.........it is tough.....thanks wings, and bonzzo and olin moyles and redred rose........and jk.........and otwo......and [email protected] rodney.i will dance with you anytime!!

I would strongly recommend getting help through counseling and/or AA. I went to AA for a year and it really helped. Don't get overwhelmed and think you can't drink for the rest of your life, because it doesn't have to be a lifelong thing. You've just got to make it through TODAY. Also, it might be a scary thought, but starting on an anti depressant/anxiety medication may also be very helpful in this tough and stressful time. Once again, its not something you have to do for the rest of your life, but it could really help you get by. A friend of mine really benefited from Wellbutrin XL, about 400mgs..... He said it evened his moods/stress out.

Have you ever been on TELEVISION?
by BonaFide ini sometimes try to put a non-witness topic out there, guess i need a break.. i was on tv once.
when i was a missionary i was filmed as i gave a talk at the assembly.
30 seconds max.. back here in the states, i auditioned for a reality tv show once, and i made it to the first round, but the show was never picked up.. and you?.
